Could it be the Cobblestone Jazz ep? Really excellent ep that come out I think last year; a couple of Canadian guys that sound like they're doing a live, improvised thing. Reminds me a little of the first Mahogani ep: really deep bassline, very nice keys. He has a white I think with no info. had a look on the internet, found a site with a few clips, but it wasn't one of them. It kind of sounds like an old warm chicago thing, but is also quite sort of, not cheesy, but I dunno. I like it anyway, will be a great track for the floors, instant appeal etc. reminds a little of that King Britt mix of Josh One Contemplation thing - not in sound, but the type of thing. anyone know? http://www.discogs.com/label/It_Is_What_It_Is I have IIWII 002, which *could* well be the one you are talking about. There's a John Tejada remix on that 12 which has kind of the sound you're describing - warm and chicago-y but with a kind of mechanical tone to the rhythms... If David Cooper is still on the list, it's one of his Round Table distribution labels. Could it be the Cobblestone Jazz ep? Robert Taylor wrote: Is this the same David Cooper who played Joe Jackson and The Smiths at Sonar? Don't think so. He never made it to Spain as far as i know. ...and as for IIWII info you can check out the Roundtable site http://www.roundtablemusic.com You might be looking for #7 - it's got quite a buzz going. It sold out very quickly, and a second run has just been made available, i believe. Best thing to do is contact David Cooper at Roundtable - he distributes IIWII. Cheers! G

Could it be the Cobblestone Jazz ep? Really excellent ep that come out I think last year; a couple of Canadian guys Is this the one that has 'the fifth element' on it? Dan Bell put that track on his Button down mind strikes back mix CD on Logistic? Man that is great stuff. Also I HIGHLY recommend people check out this mix CD, artists like Pepe Braddock, Tejada , Akufen, Stephane Attias, Shake.. and the mixing is *tight*. My favorite mix CD in quite awhile. Though I still am looking forward to the new Kirk Degeorgio one done in studio/Ableton... haven't heard it yet. Can someone remind me of the label again? Peace Matt MacQueen
