I've seen Algorithm quite a few times since he's from TO. He's a really, really fantastic DJ and if you can, make every effort to see him. That man has got the techno funk in his DNA. I actually have a relatively recent mix CD of his made in the last couple of years that an acquaintance of mine who used to work for a promo company here passed along to me. Its excellent - but only promo - not a for sale thing. Have the force comp too.
He played Mutek in Montreal this year - Live PA - before the huge Saturday night headlining show and was pretty good (although in my opinion not as inspired as I've seen him). But, definitely a positive career step I think. He's an amazing personality, and one of the best shows I've ever seen from him was at the Harvest festival just outside TO in 1999. He was DJing and was pissed because the decks were uneven or something and he actually picked up one of the record players about 10 minutes into his set with a whole barn full of people dancing and slammed the player down, screamed, and grabbed his records and walked out. Ya...It's never dull when Jeff Milligan is in the haus.
