RE: [313] Exos - my home is sonic
SND = a duo, afaik. Tender Love is a tad more beat-oriented & less cerebrally chilled than previous releases. Less obvious Detroit influences than the Exos album (which is stunningly good), but they're there if you listen. Reminds me of Derrick May locked in an elevator with Autechre in places. Mixed Up In the Hague 2 was supposed to be out in February. I e-mailed Ferenc to get a press copy. He said no problem, but I think its been delayed... again. Doh!!! I'm sure many of you already know this, but www.viewlexx.com has over a dozen full-length MP3 DJ mixes for download. My personal favorite is #10 (CAN YOU FEEL THE BASS!!!) Wes: These go deep too: SND: Tender Love (Mille Plateaux) Benjamin Wild: With Compliments (Forcetracks) if you're into their stuff (personally, it doesn't do a lot for me) there's also the new cd from Deepchord. not sure when it'll be pressed-up, but it's only available from their website (http://www.deepchord.com) and they're taking orders up to the end of this month. something else which is also due out soon is "Mixed-Up In The Hague" Vol 2. [EMAIL PROTECTED] used to be subbed on here, but i dunno if he's still around to give us the latest on that one. maybe Otto or one of the other Rotterdam guys (Chris?) can oblige? the new Soul Designer lp (speak up Mr Lig!) on F Communications is apparently rather lovely, tho i couldn't swear to having heard it yet myself. it's not really Detroit related, but Boards of Canada "Geogaddi" is too good for words. rob ps: apologies for the glut of posts, but fear not - it's way past my bedtime, so this's the last one this evening. night all. _ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
