RE: [313] Stacey Pullen and Mark and Dego

2001-04-05 Thread stephen kelly

previously...

i read an interview with stacey somewhere (forgot the place) where he spoke
very enthusiastic words about the 'planetary folklore' album by as one/kirk
degiorgio on mowax

for those who are curious, marsel, dan and i have been playing quite a lot
of this sort of sound on http://nortroute.net for some time now (a lot of
what we play is archived as streaming mp3s)... it's not an easily defined
scene - just a group of people who help each other out on tracks... brings
in styles such as soul, fusion, techno, drum'n'bass, electro, house,
afrobeat, boogie...

key movers are definately mark and dego plus some of the other reinforced
regulars such as domu (sonar circle) and seiji, the people crew, i.g
culture, bitasweet and the bugz in the attic crew (seiji, afronaught, kaidi
tatham , etc), laws of motion, phil asher (restless soul, phoojun, etc),
archive and it's new sister neroli, flipside, even some you'll know such as
rushhour and delsin... lots to check out, and some really quality material
as well...

relevant to 313?... well if you'd been at co-op when they dropped ur's
timeline you'd see it is... also the recent 'broken techno ep' by nu era on
archive is as good as anything that's come from detroit in recent years
(imo)... check some of it out and make your mind up...

all the best, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

influences
