I don't know what he is up to for new original work, but i see TONS of remix
work by him all the time (and recent too) in the record store. For instance a
nice remix of Akufen "My Way".

Also, he is playing at Smart Bar in Chicago Thursday, anyone in town going to
that??? I need to meet some headz if there are even any left any more.

On this note, it should be mentioned that this is in an intimate venue, and
that the Outlet Collective's DJ's will turn it out in their own right, as
they always do. Also, please note it is ticket only. This is not just a
promotional ploy. People will not be allowed to pay at the door, even if the
party does not fill to capacity - something to do with the venue. Who knows,
they may find a way around this, but at this time there is absolutely no
guarantee of that. At any rate, this is not one to sleep on because the
venue is not huge, the interest is high and the ticket is cheap. These guys
took a huge chance on this gig, so please come support. Mr. Bell has not
graced this island that often in recent years, so you know it's your best
shot to see him soon.

Also, those who might think of seeing Francois K instead, I agree this is a
gutting choice, but take note that August 2nd is the beginning of his new
bi-monthly Deep Space residency at Plastic People. You will get to see him
again much sooner than DBX, and this is cheaper!

RE: (313) What is Daniel Bell up to?

2003-07-22 Thread Erin Berg (WPL)
IMO Fukhouse has consistent quality shows. Pretty much always worth going
to and I haven't missed one in about a year. I mean the line-up of the last
two says it all...Matthew Dear, Deadbeat, Pantone for the Avant-Mutek, Adam
Beyer. The Avant-Mutek show was totally fantastic...I specifically thought
that Pantone was one of the funkiest things I had heard in a long
time...Matthew Dear I find a bit uneven, sometimes he's pretty decent, other
times I'm bored out of my tree.

Plus they support a ton of local Toronto DJ talent, who are consistently top
quality, such as AMtrak. System Soundbar is one of my favourite venues and I
find the soundsystem to be pretty damn fine - which of course is a major
factor in heading out to see anyone. There's nothing worse than a fantastic
talent coming to town and knowing that they're about to head to a venue that
can't support their sound. It makes me sick with anxiety while I purchase my
ticket.

I would totally suggest to anyone that if they can make it to Toronto for a
Fukhouse party that they do so. You won't be disappointed!

He is one of those musical artists which i am obssessed about but most of
his releases are from the nineties.
What is he up to these days? Is he working on some new material?
Anyone have some insider information? I would love to hear what direction
his music has gone in.

thanks
fab

He did a pantytec remix pretty recently :

I hear he's having a good time in berlin.

He seems to enjoy releasing the odd track on Tresor Comilations and the
Logistic Post Office pack. Other than that he tosses out the odd remix for
us to hunt down. About a year ago I saw something on the Tresor Web site
about a single of his they were going to relase called Tiny Robot or maybe
it was Ghost...anyway it hasn't happened yet that I've seen, not that I gave
up hope though.

On a related note I just tracked down a copy of His Vampirella
remixes...sweet indeed.
