(313) First Wave represses (was RE: kdj)
-Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 23 January 2004 11:06 represses are good in some instances... I was going to say this was the understatement of the year (represses are *always* good!), but then checked myself when I remembered my brief pang of smugness upon noticing that FRG-01 - which I managed to get my paws on around a year ago - *wasn't* being repressed... And what about this: TF-512 Kosmic Messenger - Soundscape AKA Stacey Pullen The copy I've got of this is on Eclipse - is this another version? Or am I just getting confused? Brendan

Re: KDJ Discography
previously... the most complete info about Kenny Dixon Jr.Discography: http://www.twoplayer.net/kdj/ snip cheers for the compliment - anyone who want's to contribute anymore information is always welcome, trying to make the site as comprehensive as possible... i've been meaning to mail the list actually, does anybody know about this new site - http://www.moodymann.com - ???... it appears as though somebody has registered the url for an unofficial site, but they've used artwork from my site without asking... if you're reading this and you've done it or you know the person responsible - i'd rather you didn't, i don't want to be implicated in registering that url that's all... ok, back to listening to 'come into knowledge' - ramp [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://twoplayer.net http://nortroute.net _ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
Re: KDJ discography
Yes, the Soul City 12 is listed on the discog, under other releases. It is Soul Sounds #1 with Winter Breeze, Yesterdays, etc. etc. It's one of his best EPs (next to KDJ7, KDJ24 and KDJ25). Kenny's first EP was the Moody Mann EP done as Kenny Dixon Jr. featuring Norma Jean Bell that came out on New Jersey's Grassroots records, a label I have never heard of aside from this release (which is GR005). This, as far as I'm concerned, is about the rarest Detroit EP I've ever heard of. His next EP was the Moody Traxx EP on KDJ. That's KDJ1. KDJ1 and KDJ2 are records I've never seen for sale/trade. It's likely that I'll live another fifty years and go to my grave not hearing those at the rate of success I've had trying to find copies. I've heard there will be another round of KDJ repressings. Anyone who knows him, please feel free to pass along these suggestions: 1) No more one-sided repressings. 2) Do the pressings with the original tracks. 3) Repress the records that haven't ever been repressed (KDJ1, 2, and 9 especially). 4) Put some of the white label only tracks (KDJ19, 23, and 28 whites) on the repressings. 5) Repress the damn first Three Chairs already. BTW, anybody out there who wants to drop their KDJ28 white label on me, let me know. I'll trade just about anything in my non-KDJ/Theo collection. Matt
Re: KDJ
Can anyone tell me why the catalog number I just saw for the new KDJ is KDJ28C? Does anyone have a different groove number? Also, any guesses as to why he didn't keep the B-side from the white label on the full release? What does that B sound like? Matt
