(313) let no man put asunder

2002-09-22 Thread Maarten Baute
this is like the 20th email I send to this list with this subject... but I
have another question on my all-time favrourite disco song:

wich version it is that ron hrady, farley, derrick may sample to make their
own reel-to-reel edits?
I thought it was the original mix, but I bought the album delusions and
the version of 'let no man put asunder is only 4 minutes, and there is no
aw shucks in it etc...

maybe thier is an extended version of this around on a single 12 wich is
longer? with parts of beats + vocals , whithout the bassline...

Thanks,
Maarten

[313] let no man put asunder

2002-08-30 Thread Maarten Baute
I found this RAMS HORN release.. with 2 sides..

A side has 3 tracks (all by shep petibone)
B side contains two tracks... not a lot of info on there

the B-side should be the frankie knuckles mix, right?
Does it contain a sax (or something that sounds like that)?

Thanks,
Maarten

few. only one i can find at the momnet is a mike hitman wilson and dj pierre
track called 'let no man trax'. nice and jacking. did lnr do one as well?

Never heard of the pierre hitman one any good...

There was the kramer dashwood thing aswell on pgh records about 94 I
think quite a twisted remix thing

[313] let no man put asunder

2002-06-24 Thread Maarten Baute
Ok,

so I am searching this record by first choice, called let no man put
asunder. I know the original mix form the album Delusion but I am
searching for a different mix here...

So the mix that I am looking for is probably the 'salsoul sg397' remixed in
1983 by Shep Pettibone
and backed with a Frankie Knuckles mix on the b side..

This is quite hard to get , isn´t it?

So I saw two other versions on Ram Horns recordings:

* rams horn 3307: extended mix
* rams horn 3218: org / instrumental / acapella

does one of those get close to the following sound sample? I am particulary
looking for the beats and melody at the end of this sound sample (played by
ron hardy):

Thanks!
Maarten

Re: [313] let no man put asunder

2002-06-24 Thread Jonny McIntosh
Maarten,

Any of: the Salsoul 397 (which came out, I think, in '83) or the Ramshorn
issue with the Accapella will have the mix you're after. I'm pretty sure
it's the Knuckles mix which Ron Hardy played, and that's on the Ramshorn,
though it isn't listed as it on any of the copies I've seen. The Shep
Pettibone remix is also on the recent Salsoul Mastercuts 12 (which has
Doctor Love on the flip, I think). Both are wicked, but the Ron Hardy
one's that bit rawer (and IMO better). The Ramshorn pressing's worth getting
for the accapella, anyway. I haven't checked your sample to make sure this
is definitely what you're after, but I assume it is.

Jonny

Ummm, one classic edit/RMX that could be mistaken for Let no man... is
Revoked's Pieces on Hot mix 5. It IS based on that track so much that for
a while I thought it was some original RMX on Salsoul.
Come on and gimme some more, come on and gimme some more, come on and gimme
some more, let no MAN put asunder BABE!, BABE!, BABE!, BABE!!! :) -it
