RE: issue with MSC

2018-02-21 Thread Timothy Penner via 4D_Tech
Hi Chuck,

The MSC Verify of v15 and v16 produces an XML file and next to this XML file is
a LogStyleSheet.xsl file. The XSL file is references inside of the XML file.

There is a problem with some browsers where they will not load this local XSL
file. Chrome and Safari on Mac are two browsers that have issues with this.

However, Firefox works. As long as the logStyleSheet.xsl file is still present
and next to the XML file. I just tested v15.5 right now and used Firefox
v58.0.2 (64 bit) to confirm that it works.

Can you retest using Firefox?

-Tim

p.s. there is already a bug filed for this:
ACI0097484 The MSC XML Log files are not displayed on all browsers XSL file is
generated as a separate file

Delivery problem

So I build a quick sample app for a client and send a zipped copy. He writes

TL/DR: Become an Apple Developer (pay $99/year) to get an App Signing
Certificate, sign the app using this certificate, create a DMG, place app on

Yes, and explain that an unidentified developer may not be an undignified

Lee,

> You can also walk him through the steps of ignoring the warning.

The "Allow Apps From Anywhere" option has been removed from the latest OS
releases from Apple.

I am pretty sure the easiest way to ignore the unidentified warning is to
right-click the app and choose Open from the contextual menu.

I just think it would be more professional to present the customer with a
signed application in the form that Apple wants you to use.

Barber Pole Progress Indicator for Foundation

2018-02-21 Thread Douglas von Roeder via 4D_Tech
I'm working with a Foundation-based application that's running in an all
Mac environment and I want to display a barber pole progress indicator.

Foundation does have scads of features but, unfortunately, a barber pole
style progress indicator isn't one of them.

Has anyone created one that I could use or, lacking that, anyone know where
that's available?

If you don't mind using the Progress component, this would work:

Re: Barber Pole Progress Indicator for Foundation

2018-02-21 Thread Douglas von Roeder via 4D_Tech
Keith:

Thanks for the idea. I've used the component on Windows and I'm a bit
underwhelmed by the UI so I excluded it as an option.

Checking the pix at the link, though, it's definitely worth taking it for a
"spin".
