AW: auto upgrade component

2020-01-07 Thread Achim Peschke via 4D_Tech
Hi Chuck,

It is no component but some essential methods to copy into your application and
adapt the paths. It was thought to show how easy to use the auto update in 4D
with some thoughts or additional remarks. E.g.:

- how to zip with build in zip capabilities under OS X or using a faceless tool
under Windows,
- transfer files with FTP or HTTP commands
- why and where to download the files needed for update.

So, Wayne is right, some fine tuning might be needed.

Achim

Chuck,

I wouldn't use the component as is, if it's the one I'm thinking of I used it
for ideas to write my own version, with some extra customisation.

Re: HTTP Upload file size too low

2020-01-07 Thread Jim Labos - infobase via 4D_Tech
I'm back after holidays and also testing other solutions.

I keep getting the "413 - Request Entity Too Large" error. The On Web
Authentication" method never get's triggered.

The conclusion is that I need to find a way to upload from browser and
receive in 4D pieces or chunks of the file and then concatenate the bits
into what should add up to the original file. I couldn't figure out how to
chunk the file with the Google solution suggested above.

I've tried to find 4D code samples and/or examples on how to upload files
regardless of size but have been unable to do so.

Anyone have a link or some sample code/examples they can point me to?
Thanks.
