Thank you everyone who responded.  We tried to disable DEP and that did 
not solve the issue.


The first time the issue arose, it looked like it was running as a 
service - (the status said it was running), but no one could log into 
the built server.  Clients would receive a -10002 error.


Because the application was needed for production and they were already 
down for a day+, they reverted back to Win 7.


I'm looking into upgrading their application to the latest version of 4D.

This list has been a wonderful resource during my many years of using 
4D.  I don't come here often, but when I do... I always find excellent 
advice.  As always, my sincere thanks to all who share their knowledge.

I would suspect something like this if it’s in one of the Program Files 
folders.

Server on Win 10 as opposed to Win Server, I would check that there was Windows 
where you had to open up ports in the Win Fire Wall and also allow for Code

you can also use Split string for processing paths.
it works like Position with * but you don't have to iterate.

Because of the permissions issues that seem to be a permanent feature of Win 10 
I install our built servers in the Public folder and have no permissions 
issues. Been doing this with 4D v13 for years.

We discussed this just a couple of days ago. :o)

 and download the command line tools.

I haven’t try “pdftopng” but in my dropbox there is a v18 sample/test DB that 
works on Mac (Catalina) and Win10 (20H2) at least for the text conversion.

xpdf-tools/XpdfReader was suggested by Wolfgang Kunkel (if you come across that 
4D-Partner, please thank him) that there could be problems running it in 
4d-Server on macOS.

Importing PDFs into 4D Win v17R6 - v18 and converting

I am trying to import PDFs into 4D win and then upload them as png files to a 
web site.

This works seamlessly on a Mac but my client uses Win 10.

I am able to load the pdf into a BLOB but when I do BLOB to Picture as a PDF, 
the 4D picture variable displays as the Camera with a cross through it and .pdf 
at the bottom of the image area.

I am using 4D v17R6 on a Win 10 OS I have Quicktime installed but I am nort 
sure if that has any part two play.

Ideally I would like to convert the pdf to a png in Windows, It works for me on 
the Mac

POSITION COMMAND

Using 4D V16 on Windows i need to use the commend POSITION for search 
character \ into one path.


Sometimes this command: Position("\\";vPath;Position) not work.

The solution is this:

Position("\\";vPath;Position;*)

or this:

Position(char(92);vPath;Position)
