[64studio-devel] old version of Inkscape
Hi, I just installed 64Studio 1.4.0 and I noticed that the included Inkscape is version 0.44 (around a year old). The latest one is 0.45.1 which contains important bug fixes and functions (like blur, which is quite useful). Thanks! Re: [64studio-devel] [64 Studio] #284: Add Aeolus to base install
Hello Free I've been in contact with Fons Adriaensen, there are no bugs currently recorded and he could see no reason why it would not work. He did however point me to his library many of his projects use. So, I've now debugged my home-compiled version of aeolus this evening (which also locks up in alsa mode). I think I have found my problem. 1. traced to the line in audio.cc where it does this: _alsa_handle = new Alsa_driver (device, fsamp, fsize, nfrag, true, false, false); 2. As this calls Fons's alsa library, I went off to check my version - I am building against clalsadrv-1.1.0 3. I went to check latest versions, and I've now noticed that Fons has released a newer version 1.2.2 I downloaded the latest version from here http://www.kokkinizita.net/linuxaudio/downloads/index.html The webpage shows 1.1.0 as a dependency, but since 1.1.0 isn't there any more, I think this is just a typo. The good news is that I now have aeolus starting under alsa without locking up. Taking a quick look in debian/unstable, it appears that the 64studio package is also built against the old 1.1.0 version - (see http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_contents.pl?searchmode=filelistword=libclalsadrv1version=unstablearch=amd64) Fingers crossed, building the 64studio version against the latest clalsadrv library version 1.2.2 should solve the hard lockup problem. hello anthony I would recommend this live-cd (http://www.artistx.org). They're simple XML files used by download programs that list mirrors, P2P, checksums, and other metadata. The checksums allow downloads over FTP/HTTP to be repaired if there are errors. Thanks! This will definitely be useful for some of our users, who can have trouble downloading a whole ISO that isn't corrupted. If you'd like to use them, I can make them for all ISOs, or you can use the automated tools. http://www.metalinker.org/samples.html These ones are fine for the moment; I'll make sure we prepare new ones for our 2.0 release. Re: [64studio-devel] [64 Studio] #284: Add Aeolus to base install
Fons the developer has replied immediately. He confirms It is correct to use the very latest libraries in both cases. If the 64studio package could get rebuilt at some point, I'll install it here and do more testing. best wishes Steve~ From: Steve A [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] CC: 64studio-devel@64studio.com Subject: Re: [64studio-devel] [64 Studio] #284: Add Aeolus to base install Date: Wed, 23 May 2007 22:41:55 + MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Originating-IP: [81.178.87.125] X-Originating-Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from bay0-omc1-s36.bay0.hotmail.com ([65.54.246.108]) by bay0-imc1-s33.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2444); Wed, 23 May 2007 15:41:57 -0700 Received: from hotmail.com ([207.46.9.94]) by bay0-omc1-s36.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2668); Wed, 23 May 2007 15:41:57 -0700 Received: from mail pickup service by hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC; Wed, 23 May 2007 15:41:57 -0700 Received: from 207.46.9.123 by by119fd.bay119.hotmail.msn.com with HTTP;Wed, 23 May 2007 22:41:55 GMT X-Message-Info: LsUYwwHHNt3660MmjhEvYg2f34OAemlK0PJlouNsAzjYcYv7K5Y5/1n49Pcox9RL X-OriginalArrivalTime: 23 May 2007 22:41:57.0017 (UTC) FILETIME=[917BC090:01C79D8B] Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] me again I've built aeolus against the very latest libraries.
