Re: [9fans] plan9port .XCompose suddenly doesn't work

2015-01-22 Thread Rudolf Sykora
I am puzzled. Anyway, it actually works in acme too,
but differently than I remember from before.

I now have to press and *release* the compose key
and then continue; i.e. to write alpha I have to
- press left alt (my compose key)
- release left alt
- press shift and 8 (together it's *)
- release those
- press a

This is different from the behaviour in xterm, where the
compose key can be hold down during the step of shift+8.

So at least it works somehow.

 Hello,

until recently I happily used a generated ~/.XCompose file on p9p
 (see http://swtch.com/plan9port/man/man7/keyboard.html)
to be able to write various characters in a way similar to p9.
But now something must have changed.
I can use the composition in, say, xterm (it works),
but when I start acme (or sam), it doesn't work.

Contrary to running xterm, I do not see anything in the
 output of

strace -e open acme | grep Compose

 Does somebody have a clue?

 Thanks

Re: [9fans] simple cgi and POST for plan9?

2015-01-22 Thread Matthew Bonner
Hi Steve,

I've recently been experimenting with web / CGI stuff on 9atom myself.

No wiki examples I'm afraid but I'd suggest investigating aux/listen - easy
to patch in rc scripts or binaries to serve and receive content.

Cheers,

Matthew

I want somthing like the wiki, but just a single page of text
that can be edited in a form using a POST method.

on plan9 of course.

I know I am being lazy and I just need to RTFM but if somone has a recipie
already done that works...

Thanks,

take a look at pegasus and if you're using plan9/386 doing it with a little
Go app is very easy.

form action=http://www.example.com/magic/save/foo;
enctype=multipart/form-data method=post
p
Type some text (if you like):br
input type=text name=textline size=30
/p
p
Please specify a file, or a set of files:br
input type=file name=datafile size=40
/p
div
input type=submit value=Send

[9fans] Problem with pf9 on Windows 8.1

2015-01-22 Thread Winston Kodogo
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm trying to run pf9
version of acme on Windows 8.1. If I try to use mouse button 3, it always
barfs. Button 3 works fine in sam. Has anyone else had this problem and
found a solution?
