Gorka,
Sorry, you missed me:
I had to leave early to be sure of getting my train because of bombs
and stuff.

However, we are putting together a book for the family:
I will make sure that your name is in there.

Cheers,
Dave.

I realise this is rather late, but is there any where a card could be
sent? I wouldn't dare ask my name to be added to anything (especially
since my knowledge of Boyd came through a website, not Boyd himself),
but I would like to send my condolences to his family & friends. If
this is at all possible, could someone drop me a note?

Yeah, my Dad was found in about the same way as Boyd back in 2000. I
had the unhappy job of calling all his friends up in his address book
and telling them the news. It was hard, I had to take a lot of breaks
and such.

However when the time came for the funeral I was very honestly touched
by the number of people who travelled to come out and pay respects to
my dad and our family. Some of these people I knew from a very young
age and had almost forgotten. Many of them I never knew at all.
Still for a guy who felt so lonely, and he did, he really wasn't that
alone at all.

It's a good reminder for the rest of us I suppose.

I did not know Boyd well.

When I first heard the news, I went back through my email reading our
interactions, all through the mailing list. I liked Boyd a lot. I
wish I knew him well.

I don't think he would have considered me a friend. I don't even know
if he would recognize my name on the mailing list. Would I attend his
wake if I were around? I don't know. Would he attend mine? I don't
know there, either.

I do know he'd be welcome at mine, and maybe that's all that matters.

I hope seeing our names on the absent friends list lets his friends
and family know that in some way he made an impression on us. And I
will miss him.

Please add my name to the list.
