I do also inside of each X: tune. Bert What is your rationale to use X: instead of P: to split a single Bert tune in different parts? You cannot specify a different title, source, author,... to the P: part. But what we play for example in Breton suites are a link of different tunes from various origins. abc2ps is OK with that but not abc2midi. As far as the abc standard is concerned, thet's legal! I don't know how good the ABC is - I can play these in ABCMUS but not in ABC2WIN - so something is strange somewhere - if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong - I love to know! For the record: input into mozart 5, exported - midi, imported - Melody Assistant and saved as ABC. (Note: I know this isn't using the ABC system as it should be - it just happens to be the way the tune was handled!) Two versions 1: for three instruments 2: for one solo instrument eg English Concertina THe display below seems to be double spaced ... again I don't know why! Still maybe the music will work for someone - and maybe someone much wiser than me will tell me how to make a printout from ABC2WIN.On the other hand - if no-one elase has a problem ... maybe I need tolook at my copy of ABC2WIN! - good luck Jon McNamara %!HARMONY ABC @ %Harmony/Melody File to ABC Vers 2.7 April 1998-March 2001 %Written by Guillion Bros. on a Chris Walshaw format %Please e-mail us your comments and bugs reports ! Great tune. Melody Assistant's abc output is a little eccentric, so I've edited it a bit. This is what I had to do to make it work in BarFly. 1. Remove the double spacing. 2. Remove all the extra M:,L: and K: fields, as well as the %!STAVE and %!INSTR stuff. 3. Phil Taylor - A sign of the ever-growing popularity of abc on the net? I don't quite think so. It might mean there more people are arguing over how to use it than there are people using it. Seems likely. Flos PS I tried the original double-spaced version of Shingly Beach in ABC2win, and it worked fine for me.
