[AI] Online Conversion of Text into Audio.
Hello, You can visit www.spokentext.net for conversion of .txt, .doc, .pdf or .ppt files into mp3 or ipod format. The quality is quite good and size is pretty small. I tested a 26 page manual of my own writing. It was converted into mp3 in just 10 minutes. The recording time is 1 hour 26 minutes and 18 seconds. The size is hardly 19 mb. The quality seems better than SayPadXp and you do not have to handle it. Best regards, Amiyo. Cell: +91-9433464329 To unsubscribe send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the subject unsubscribe. Re: [AI] OutlookExpress and Gmail account
Hello Rajasekhar, The ID's are pop.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com You will also need some other settings. On the server information tab, the account name should be in full email ID, like, [EMAIL PROTECTED] The check box "My server requires authentication" must be checked. On the Advance tab the check boxes "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" should be checked for both server ports, incoming and outgoing. The port numbers for incoming pop3 and outgoing smtp should be 995 and 465. Best regards, Amiyo. Re: [AI] Increaseing hearing problems among visually impaired
Hi, recently, I consulted an ENT specialist and asked her about any hearing problems if used head phones for a long time. She told the following: 1. The volume should be low. 2. Should take rest for at least 15 minutes after every 1 & half hours of head phone usage. If your head phone usage is based on these 2 conditions, then there is absolutely no problem on your ears. Also please check if you feel any blockage in your ears, then that may be because of the ear wax gone into your inner ears. Note that please do not use any kind of ear butts or dont put any thing like the pins etc to clean your ears. This is a very harmful habit that can some times harm your ear drum. Please go to an ENT doctor once in a year or once in 6 months for cleaning your ear wax if you feel so. Thanks & regards, Vijayalakshmi. Great days! You may find some symbols in fields and symbols options of insert menu. For square or any power sign just superscript the index i.e. if you want to write a squared, then write as a2 and select and superscript the 2. [AI] Using mobiles for a decade raises brain cancer risk: Study
See This News. What should be believed and what should not. No idea. The Hindu News Update Service News Update Service Monday, October 8, 2007 : 1230 Hrs Sic. & Tech. Using mobiles for a decade raises brain cancer risk: Study London (PTI): Do cell phones cause brain cancer? There's no sign of it, say many. But, if researchers in Europe are to be believed, regular use of a mobile phone over more than a decade raises the risk of brain cancer. Yes, according to Swedish researchers, who carried out a study, long-term users have double the chance of getting a malignant tumour on the side of the brain where they hold the handset, the 'Daily Mail' reported here on Monday. And, an hour a day on a mobile phone for over ten years, is be enough to increase the risk. "The international standard employed to protect users from radiation emissions is not safe and needs updating. "Children should be discouraged from using mobiles because their thinner skulls and developing nervous systems make them especially vulnerable. Adults should exercise caution," lead researcher Professor Lennart Hardell of the University Hospital in Orebro was quoted as saying. In fact, Professor Hardell and his fellow researcher Professor Kjell Hansson Mild of Umea University came to the conclusion after examining long-term mobile users because cancer can take more than a decade to develop. After analysing the results of 11 studies carried out around the world, the team found found almost all had discovered an increased risk of cancer of the glial cells that support and protect the nerve cells. Those who have used their phones for at least a decade are 20 per cent more likely to contract acoustic neuromas and 30 per cent more likely to get malignant gliomas, they said. There was also an increased risk of acoustic neuromas, benign but often disabling tumours which usually cause deafness, according to the findings published in the latest edition of 'Occupational Environmental To unsubscribe send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the subject unsubscribe. [AI] Firefox extensions' roundup
Firefox extensions' roundup Add-ons for the browser are being introduced to boost its potential The availability of a variety of free communication tools is the hallmark of the net. Several add-ons are being released for the Firefox (FF) browser to enhance its potential. This edition of Netspeak takes yet another look at a few of them. Besides being a preferred email service, for many, Gmail has become a major communication/file storage tool as well. A couple of FF extensions, meant for exploiting Gmail's file storage/communication features are discussed here. Gspace NetSpeak has already discussed a few tools (such as the Gmaildrive - http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail . htm) that enable you to use your Gmail acount as an online file storage device. The FF extension Gspace ( http://www.getgspace.com/ ) is a similar product with additional features. One advantage of Gspace is the availability of an easy-to- use graphics user interface (GUI). Another feature worth a mention is the facility to manage multiple Gmail accounts. However, you cannot log in to multiple accounts simultaneously. Once installed, Gspace leaves an icon on the browser's bottom-right corner, for opening the Gspace control panel. gTalk One of the popular features of Gmail is its chat facility that lets you exchange instant messages with your Gmail contacts. In fact, the chat facility has become an important means to build a personal online community for many. Google provides a chat client (gTalk) for augmenting the utility of the chat facility with additional features (voice chatting, file transfer, Gmail notification and the like). A shortcoming of the current version of gTalk is the lack of conferencing or 'group chat' facility. To circumvent this limitation you can use the Google talk gadget ( http://www.google.com/talk/ ). Once the gadget is launched, you will find your chat buddies, listed on a web page. To initiate the chat, click on the buddy's name (as you usually do). Now, if you propose to bring another online contact into this conversation, click on the 'GroupChat' button. Partychat is yet another means by which you can implement group chat facility on gTalk. Partychat allows you to create your own chat rooms, where others can join for a group conversation. For this, just add [EMAIL PROTECTED] as your buddy, create a chat room by sending the message '/create chatroom-name'. Your friends can enter this chatroom by sending the message '/join chatroom-name' to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . For more details: http://googlesystem.blogspot. com /2007/09/chat-rooms-for- google-talk.html. If you wish to chat without visiting Gmail or installing gTalk, use the Firefox extension, gTalk sidebar (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4708). Once the sidebar extension is installed, you can bring in the gTalk gadget inside the browser sidebar by pressing the keys 'Alt+g'. Though modern web sites generally publish webfeeds for helping its readers keep up with the latest content on them, many sites still don't have a webfeed. To obtain the latest content available on such web sites, the extension Update scanner (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3362) could come handy. Search assistant While invoking a web search on a specific subject, you may not have the information on all the terms related to it - particularly when the subject is an unfamiliar one. Some means of obtaining the terms related to the subject being handled, along with search results, could be useful in refining the search and thereby producing more relevant search output. In this regard, you may find the search extension, 'Search radar' (http://searchradar.webaroo.com/) useful. Once integrated into your browser, search radar automatically displays a set of terms related to the search query, whenever you do a Google search. J. [AI] online jobs, no startup cost Required.
Hi all, I was searching some online jobs for so long. Everyone asking for the money before starting, and I didn't wanted to take any chance for that. I've posted a mail regarding this before, and got no response. I've also checked archives, and there is not any mails relating to that subject. That's why I'm writing again. Okay, I've founded some online jobs, in which the fee is not required. I think, if one will work well, and understand the point that what he, or she has to do, and devote some time for this while surfing over the net, and checking mails, can make money out of it. Most interesting aspect is that there is no startup cost required. Since this kind of postings are not aloud in list, I'm not posting full details. Interested friends can drop a mail in my inbox to get details, and I'd be happy to contact you. I'm so sorry, if I'm posting mail again. Happy life, akhilesh. [AI] Adobe to Acquire Virtual Ubiquity
Adobe to Acquire Virtual Ubiquity Collaborative Online Word Processor, Buzzword, builds on Adobe AIR Momentum New Delhi - October 8, 2007 - Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Virtual Ubiquity and its ground-breaking online word processor, Buzzword. The acquisition furthers Adobe's commitment to foster a vibrant ecosystem for rich Internet application (RIA) development that delivers breakthrough experiences built on Adobe AIR. Separately, Adobe added a new file sharing service to its current online document services. Codenamed "Share," the beta service will make it easier than ever for people to share, publish and organize documents online. "For over a decade, Adobe(r) Acrobat(r) software and PDF have been the standard way people share and collaborate on high value documents across platforms, with perfect fidelity. Buzzword will build on that leadership and enable fundamental improvements in how people collaborate on documents," said David Mendels, senior vice president, Business Productivity Business Unit at Adobe. "At the same time, it is an exciting showcase of the power of Adobe's RIA technology that raises the bar for the quality of experience people should expect in their applications." Buzzword, an elegant online word processor, enables individuals to work together to create high quality, page perfect documents. Because it was built with Adobe Flex(tm) software and runs in the Adobe Flash(tm) Player, Buzzword enables greater document quality, outstanding typography, page layout controls, and robust support for integrated graphics, regardless of the browser or device. The application also will run on Adobe(r) AIR(tm), offering users a hybrid online/offline experience and the ability to work with both hosted and local documents. The powerful collaboration capabilities in Buzzword enable multiple authors to edit and comment on documents from anywhere, at anytime, while document creators can set permissions that virtually eliminate version control chaos. For more information on the acquisition and access to Buzzword beta software, please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/buzzwordfaq. The founders of Virtual Ubiquity will be joining Adobe, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience in online document collaboration. With extensive background in the development of Lotus Notes and eRoom, the Virtual Ubiquity team developed a rich, collaborative authoring environment for the next generation of work. "We were inspired by the way today's youth spend their lives working and playing together online, and how this is influencing the way we all think about collaboration," said Rick Treitman, CEO of Virtual Ubiquity. "This inspiration resulted in an online word processor for the 'Facebook generation' that focuses on working together online, without sacrificing quality." Increasingly, the Web is becoming the platform for the "future of work," where people come together to share each other's work anytime, anywhere. As a leader in RIA development, Adobe is revolutionizing the way people come together to engage with ideas, information and each other. This announcement marks a milestone for Adobe as it expands its leadership in the emerging domain of online document collaboration. Adobe also made available today a free online document sharing service, codenamed "Share." Users simply select the documents they want to share, send a message to recipients, and set whether the files will be publicly accessible or restricted. Built with Adobe Flex technology, the rich interface provides a smooth experience, integrating simple workflows to upload and share documents with high quality online previews to speed up finding the right document. Additionally, the beta will include a set of REST APIs to let developers create mash-ups with their applications, including storing and accessing files, as well as creating thumbnails and Flash-based previews of documents. People can learn more about the service and sign-up for access at http://www.adobe.com/go/labs_share. Virtual Ubiquity is based in Waltham, Massachusetts. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close by the end of November 2007. The addition of Virtual Ubiquity is not expected to have a material impact to Adobe revenue and earnings in fiscal year 2007. Terms were not disclosed. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Pamnani Sent: Monday, October 08, 2007 12:47 PM To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Subject: [AI] tel.nos.
