[AI] Rs 5 coin to go for a toss

2009-05-11 Thread Vishnu Ramchandani
Rs 5 coin to go for a toss

Government to remint the coins after receiving several complaints over
similarity to 50p coins

There's good news for all those who've lost money due to similarity
between the Rs 5 and 50 paise coins.

Ever since the Rs 5 coin, made of stainless steel, was introduced in
2008 the government received a lot of complaints. It has now stopped
minting these
coins.

A K Ajmani, under secretary (coins and currency), ministry of finance,
said, "The new Rs 5 coins will be yellowish in colour and will have
ribbed edges.
They will be introduced in the market soon."

Citizens have faced problems as the new Re 1 coin looks a lot like the
new Rs 2 coin and the Rs 5 coin is easily confused with the 50 p coin.
Last year
coins of denominations Rs 5, Rs 2 and Re 1 were introduced in the
market.

Sometimes customers who are in a hurry end up paying more because the
coins look similar - Madan Singh Rajput, STD booth owner in Naupada

Rajendra Prasad Sharma, who runs the Raj Machine Stores in Thane, said
he has now started keeping the coins in separate containers. "The coins
look similar
at the first go. It becomes difficult when the shop is busy and there
are many customers. When a customer is not in a hurry, it is alright.
But at times,
I wonder if the coin I handed over is 50 paise or Rs 5... There has to
be some change in their appearance."

Coins in India are minted by the ministry of finance and sent to the
market by the Reserve Bank of India. The finance ministry usually makes
recommendations
for the coins which are then adopted in the new design. While designing
and minting the coins, care is taken that the value of the metal is not
more than
the denomination of the coin. Changes are made in the coins regularly so
that they aren't forged.

When buses are crowded, it is exasperating to have to spend time
examining the coins. The appearance has to change - Anil Awhad, BEST
conductor on Borivli-Thane
route

The stainless steel coins were designed by the Ahmedabad-based National
Institute of Design on the recommendations of the ministry of finance.
However,
the new Rs 5 coin has been designed and minted by the government.

Complaints about the Re 1 and Rs 2 coins will be examined by the
ministry soon.

Sir,

I have seen a dummy handset of this model. The keypad is a QWERTY one. the
keys are easily locatable unlike the flat keypads. The battery backup is
better than most of the E series phones. Everything about that phone is
good. But if we can get the experience of a user who is using it with talks,
it would be even better.

Hi,

To the best of my knowledge, anyone who has k1000 but who does not have
office 2007 on their system will either need a version of word + an
appropriate converter plug-in if available, or a free Word 2007 viewer.
Isn't that so? If it isn't, I'd like to know. thanks.

Re: [AI] regarding 3ssetup 104

2009-05-11 Thread Parthiban

Hello Friend,
Though it is not very clear to me about the differences between both the
softwares, according to my knowledge, "system security suite" is a optional
software which asks for check/uncheck. You can avoid deleting in case if
you need any which are unnecessary as far as the computer is concerned but
necessary as per your will. for example, used url links, tools history etc.
But C-cleaners without asking any option it simply analysis your disk and
says the total size of the files to be deleted. There may be other
differences also, but, I don't know except this.

Even one of my normal friends expressed the satisfaction over this software.

With regards.

[AI] Add more memory to your computer

2009-05-11 Thread Saravanan Ramadoss

Subject: Add more memory to your computer
If your computer seems slow, now's the time for additional RAM

I used to have the dining room table all to myself. Taxes, Christmas cards,
birthday gift-wrap, household bills-I would spread out until the job was done.
Nowadays, with one child drawing pictures, another doing homework, and a third
fiddling with Lite-Brite, I'm relegated to a tiny corner-if that much. Often I
put off tasks until everyone has gone to bed and even then I'm hard-pressed to
meet the breakfast deadline. Of course, I could expand the table...
It's much the same with computers. If the hard drive is the filing cabinet in
which you store your documents, then memory, or RAM (random access memory), is
the table you work on. The easiest way to get more space is to add extra leaves.
There comes a time when there's just not enough RAM. Everything is working
fine, then you add photo-editing software, surf to a graphically intense Web
site, install a game, and suddenly your computer can't keep up.
If the drive light is flickering like crazy, then it's probably time to install
more memory. But before you unplug the cables, lug the machine to the car,
drive to the computer store, wait to have RAM installed, and pay a minimum of
$25 for the service, consider installing RAM yourself.
Determine how much RAM you have and how much you need
Before you make any purchases, you need to know how much memory you have and
what type of memory to buy.
To see how much RAM is in your PC, go to the Start menu, click Settings, and
then click Control Panel. Click System and then select the General tab. At the
bottom of the page you should see the amount of RAM.
Most games will specify the minimum amount of RAM you need to install them and
play. For example, Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban requires 256 MB.
This amount includes RAM that the computer needs to do its own background work
as well as to run the game.
Jimmy Ritchie, tech lead at Future Shop, says that the amount of RAM you need
depends on the operating system you are using. For Windows 98, 128 MB to 256 MB
is more than enough. For Windows XP, "the more the merrier-depending on what
you're doing," he says. If you're just surfing the Internet and writing
letters, you need 256 MB to 512 MB. "If you're gaming, the sky's the limit,"
says Ritchie, which means anywhere from 512 MB to 1 GB RAM (extreme gamers will
need even more). You'll also need more RAM if you're using a lot of
applications at the same time, such as desktop publishing and video rendering.
RAM modules can be purchased in 128 MB, 256 MB, and 512 MB sizes.
Figure out what type of RAM you require
To determine the maximum amount of RAM your computer can handle as well as the
speed, consult your PC's owner's manual, which should show you the number of
slots (the place where you insert the RAM), how much each can take, and the
maximum your system can use.
Contact the manufacturer or use an online memory advisor, such as the one from
Crucial Technology or Kingston Technology, that will tell you which products
work with your system.
To find out what kind of module you will need, you can also open up your
computer.
1.
First, turn off the computer, but leave it plugged in, because then it's
automatically grounded, explains Ritchie. (Computers that should not remain
plugged in will be clearly marked.)
2.
Place the computer on a clean workspace and remove the cover carefully (you
may need to use a screwdriver).
3.
Touch the case to ground yourself. "If you've got a static charge then you
won't once you've touched the case," says Ritchie. (Although some manuals
recommend anti-static wrist straps, Ritchie says that this is not necessary for
home users.)
4.
Locate the RAM modules, which are green with black tubes, on the motherboard.
5.
Now determine the type of module you have. "It's all in the look of the slot,"
explains Ritchie.
. RDRAM is paired up (you have to put in two at a time) and has metal casing on
one side;
. DDR SDRAM is the most popular and looks like regular RAM, but has one notch;
. SDRAM (which is being phased out) has two notches.
6.
Also note your RAM speed, which is usually written on the side of the existing
chip (either 266 or 333).
7.
If you don't have a free slot, remove one of the memory cards to check the
number of notches on it. You'll be replacing the smaller of the two RAM modules.

Install your new RAM
1.
Turn off the computer and touch the metal casing.
2.
Locate the RAM modules. Find the empty one you plan to replace, or remove the
RAM module you will replace.
3.
Line up the notches of the new RAM module and apply firm pressure to attach.
4.
Once you're sure the RAM module is snugly in place, close the latch at either
end. If you have clips, they should snap back in place.
5.
Reconnect all the cables, but leave the casing open until you're sure
everything is working right.
6.
Turn your computer back on. If the machin
