2011-01-29 Thread Rakesh Chowdary Paladugula
Dear Friends,
Greetings for the day...

I am working with NASSCOM to bring as many persons with disabilities
as possible into IT and IT related companies. For this I need to know
where a person with disability can work in IT/ITIS.BPO companies. For
the same I have created a small survey which gives an overline to find
the departments where PWDs are working now.
Please take few minutes to complete the survey and be a part of the
change that we are going to bring in persons with disabilities. Please
post it to the other mailing lists and groups where a PWDs participate
actively. This survey is not restricted to visual impairments. Any
person who have a disability are encouraged to take part in the

Re: [AI] Disabled should help enumerators to prepare correct census

2011-01-29 Thread Prashant Verma
The sensitization of the enumerators is being done fairly well at least in
Delhi. Many disabled persons have been participating as role models and
trainers for conducting the one hour session on the question on disability
in the trainings that are happening all over Delhi.

I have also conducted several such trainings. Now the need is to sensitize
the public at large so that they do not hide the disabilities and provide
correct information when enumerators go to their homes.
I believe a media campaign is scheduled just before the start of the census
and it will include such message.

Let us hope that we get a much realistic figure this time.
Regards,
Prashant

Re: [AI] Taking Backup Of Various Folders In Outlook Express

2011-01-29 Thread Sandeep Gautam
Hi Dr Yogesh,
Just to add something,
the process written is to select another folder to save new mails in your
OE's different folders (which yet to come).
To backup your already saved mails,
you need to follow all the process described below and when you click on
store folder button
the present path of your store folder is written there in a read only
edit field.
just select the complete path and paste it to somewhere else, like in a
notepad.
now read the entire path and follow in your computer. after reaching all
folders and subfolders, you will find some folders like:
inb ox.dbx
  outbox.dbx
draft.dbx
etc.
you can copy these folders and paste somewhere else to save all your
existing mails of OE.

Re: [AI] UID number and inclusion of Disability?

Dear Harish,

I also support of inclusion of disability to UI card.

Because, I think if I have an UI card I need not to carry handicapped
certificate or any kind of concession forms (including Railway concession
form) to claim concessions in future.

Can accessindia launch a campaign in this direction?

Regards.

Dear Vashisht

In my opinion, it will be those "for the disabled" who would be opposing
inclusion of disability in the UI Card. For, the disabled themselves
understand the hassel of carrying a bag full of ID cards for proof of
disability.

More importantly, this could have been the perfect answer for getting
access to copyright material internationally and obtaining immunity from
fair use clause.

I think we must do everything possible to resalvage it if possible to do
so.

If one chooses not to disclose this information to the UI authority that
should be fine, later, they should not cry for not having done so. Just
because of a handful of persons, we cannot throw out a system which would
help majority of persons.

Rajesh, a large number of persons with disabilities do not want their
disability on their UID Cards. They want to be known by their name and
number and not by their disability. Argument - when you don't write
conditions such as Heart Problems, Knee Problems etc or
Castes/categories such as SC/ST, then why disability which is just a
condition that persons live with.

This debate perhaps has led to UID dropping disability from the face of
the

card.

Another issue - UID's legal mandate doesn't require it to be a replacing
document for various other certificates such as a disability certificate.
This also has a politics of maintaining relevance of certain
departments/ministries that have a stake in the disability. And they do
not
want to let go their importance. Since, if every important information
comes

on UID then they fear it might render them redundant such as a PAN Card
(Separate Ministry), Ration Card (Separate Ministry), (Disability
Certificate (Min. of Health) etc..

No, data on disability is not being collected.
UID only collects data on name, date of birth, father's name/ mother's

Dear All,
We are aware that UIDAI will include disability in their database. I
saw the form on eaadhaar.com as the form on UIDAI website was
unreadable by Jaws, but it does not ask for disability related
information.
So would like to know if there is anybody who has got UID which
includes their disability detail, and procedure which is to be
followed?
As per help desk soon UID will be allotted in Mumbai.

Yes the knfb reader works well with the e72. I don't know about the other

Sometimes it goes out of date though so it's best to email their tech support
to ask about a specific phone. They are responsive and they do answer emails

I agree. disabled have to have an ID card anyway and what's the
problem in making it a part of the UID? I would consider it even as an
advancement over the US system. Remember that the inclusion will help
us on things such as the bank accounts etc and one does not have to
vaste energy in describing his/her disability to the officials.

Subject: [AI] Please help me gmail is not opening account

Hello all,

Hope all is well.

Ihave one problem about e-mail ID. I am trying to open one e-mail ID
from two days but it does not take the password. Me and my teacher
tried so many things but we did not get any answer from g-mail. Lastly
Sir said me to forget this ID but unfortunately it is not possible
because all important mails are on this mail.

Sorry I forgot to mention this is my friend's e-mail ID.

Will you please tell me any solution for it.

Kindly looking for your reply.
Take great care of your health.
