[AI] Query about Electronic Media

2012-07-21 Thread Geeta Suman
Hello accessindian friends!
I have query about electronic media. Is there any opportunity or any
scope excluding Radio in electronic media for visually challenged
persons? Can VH also make their career in this field? If yes, so what
kind of job we can do. If anybody has some experience or some
information about it , so please share it. One of my friends has so
much interest in this field and she wants to make career in media. I
have heard that few Visually impaired persons are working in print
media, but I have no idea about electronic media. I request you to
throw light on this.
Thanks and best regard

Dear, just use google inputs for the respective languages. Interestingly,
you do not have to be specialized in the hindi/kannada typings. Just you
need to type phonetically those respective languages in English and it will
convert it in to that language. Call me for more info.

Re: [AI] How to select date on bookmyshow.com

2012-07-21 Thread Amar Jain
Hi,

Which built of Jaws you are using? I could do it very easily.

Once you are on the site, the process is as follows:
1. The first edit box is for city and location e.g., Mumbai-Westurn.
So, press enter on edit box, and if forms mode gets on, turn it off.
Just below it you see list of 27 items, and hit enter on your desired
city.
2. The next box is for movie selection. Same process, enter on edit,
the list comes, select anyone of them e.g., Bol Bachchan.
3. The last one is for dates, and you automatically get the dates list
(5 days). Select the desired date.

Thanks

Re: [AI] Whatsapp is now accessible

2012-07-21 Thread Ankit rajiv Jindal
hello friends,
Regret the delay, nevertheless so here is my experience:

I have now been using this for over 36 hours. It has been a lot of fun
for me and my brother using it. We have not encountered any problem
using this on our nokia E72
… So here is mmy step by step guide and experience.
1. I have downloaded the latest version of Mobile Speak from the
following link
http://codefactory.es/en/downloads.asp?id=348#version_0_106.
2. The Mobile Speak version allows to download the latest and
accessible whatsapp directly. For this I went to Configure Mobile
Speak Options Product downloads More downloads and followed the
links to the WhatsApp installation package and installed on the same.
You can also download it from the whatsapp website however be cautious
it is recommended that the v2.6.97 as this accessible and not the
version prior to that.
3. Once installed, Mobile speak is silent for first couple of minute.
4. Then the first screen encounter is that were you need to enter your
country code and phone number. I did not have any trouble doing this
5. The next step is to enter your name. no problem here also.
6. The next step was where I encountered Chat lists, Favorite lists,
Contact lists and current Status list. The page completely accessible
no problem here.m
a. During the chat:
focus is first placed on the edit field where you can enter the
message. It reads all that I have written no problem here.I Use the
joystick or top or down arrow.
b. To view all messages that were previously sent in the current chat,
I used the joystick up/down key to navigate message-by-message.
The message was be spoken, along with the time it was sent. No problem
here at all.
c. An interesting feature in the chat window was that I could write my
reply at any time, even if currently focusing on a previous message.
This made my job very easy and intuitive..
7. The Group chats (spoke the name of the sender of each message.. No
problem here..
8. No problem in changing the status also..
In a nut shell, the experience has ben seemless and a lot of fun.
A note for a caution is that whatsapp requires internet connection, so
you may want to use a good plan for it. I have no idea the kind of
usage it has..
In nokia versions, whatsapp does not allow to sign out. This mean you
are always available, thus there is a constant use of internet.
This will also put added pressure on your battery

Yes! it doesn't read while typing - it reads only when you hit the
Send key. A workaround I implement - I type the text in Message Editor
and Copy/Paste it from there to the Whatsapp window. And it reads
 complete messages on my N79.

Mobile Speak v5.8 for Symbian is now available!

Mobile Speak v5.8 for Symbian is now available!
Yet another free upgrade which includes support for WhatsApp, Symbian
Belle FP1 accessibility and more than 100 enhancements for all
 supported devices
Terrassa (Barcelona), Spain, July 19th, 2012

Code Factory has once again shown its commitment to its Symbian users
in the latest v5.8 release. This major release features more than 100
new features, improvements and fixes so that users can make the best
use of both the latest touch devices and also traditional phones with
keypads. Once again, it is offered as a free upgrade for users of
 Mobile Speak v4.0 and above.

Although the sale of Symbian devices may be in decline in many parts
of the world, we still see the overwhelmingly popularity of these
devices amongst the visually impaired community. No other platform
offers the wide range of device form factors, and no other screen
reader solution offers the same amount of functionality and
configurability, explains Eduard Sánchez, CEO at Code Factory. Since
Mobile Speak is still the most practical solution for many users and
it allows them to get things done faster than on
