Re: [AI] St Stephen's dithers on waiving hostel fees of disabledstudents
Subramani sir, usage like 'Notorious' doesn't deem fit for one of the leading educational institutions like St Stephen's College. It is true that Leading National Daily, Hindustan Times has picked up this story and substantiated by quoting One of the officials Sanjay Jha, but As far as I know, Stephen's has helped many blind studens and almost all blind students to avail one or the other freeships facilitated by the college. Like KPMG and Somo Tomo Both are around one lakhs each over the three graduation years. Where sighted counterpart pay Eighty thousands annually, blind students pay thirty to forty thousands per annum. Therefore, please refrain from using usage like 'notorious', feelings of many former and current students are at stake... On 3/20/13, P. The university's executive council in November 2012 passed a resolution that students with physical disabilities will be eligible for full waiver or concession in hostel fees, whether in university or college hostels. A notification was sent out to colleges on February 7. However, in colleges such as St Stephen's, students still have no clarity on the matter. I have already paid my hostel fees for the first part of the academic year. But I refused to pay the rest since we are eligible for the waiver, said a student on condition of anonymity. When students raised the matter with DU's Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC), it wrote to the St Stephen's College principal. We requested them to consider and implement the circular issued by the university, said Bipin Tiwari, Officer on Special Duty, EOC, DU. But students say there has been no official confirmation. There is also no clarity on whether the money we paid as hostel fees will be refunded, said another student, who did also not wish to be named. The college has between 33 and 35 disabled students, approximately half of whom stay in the hostel. Most disabled students are not well off, said Tiwari. The principal and the bursar were not available for comment. However, the dean of academic affairs, Dr Sanjay Kumar, said, We will surely implement the university's guidelines. Re: [AI] St Stephen's dithers on waiving hostel fees of disabledstudents
I totally agree with Avinash sir. disabled students of St. Stephens college have to pay only the mass charges. there is no fee for staying in hostel. the sighted students have to pay around 90,000 for hostel and college fee. there are some colleges in Delhi University which take one or two students in hostel. on the other hand, there is St. Stephens college, which provide accommodation to its all disabled students. I suggest getting the latest processor, i'm having a hard time with atalon processor, because when microsoft opens jaws reads to slow because the system gets busy, when i use microsoft word in Samsung. But i still believe its the processor problem and not the company. So while buying make sure you have the latest processor. which ever company it is. still would suggest, samsung, HP, del. But looking upon the cost buy the best one. Samuel On 3/20/13, mujeeb rahman. mujeeb.vakka...@gmail.com wrote: Dear All, As Mr. Nithin said, I am also using Samsung. It has only 1gb ram. [AI] Inclusive mainstream schools in Hyderabad
Hi, This, I guess will be more relevant to the members from Hyderabad. Do we have mainstream schools like the Delhi Public School in Hyderabad giving the blind and visually impaired an inclusive environment like their counterparts in Delhi? Or, are there any other schools which willingly take in children with the said problems into their regular school environment? I ask this as I am unaware of any and need help for a child with low vision to be included in one such school. Niraj Public School has a section for children with special needs, but I don't think they have any visually impaired children there. Any suggestions and help with information is appreciated. Re: [AI] St Stephen's dithers on waiving hostel fees ofdisabledstudents
I have worked in the Delhi University Equal Opportunity Cell for more than 3 years. I can say with confidence that St. Stephens college is one of the most sensitized and most well equipped for students with disabilities. There is always scope for improvement for everyone and St. Stephens should keep reviewing its policies for students with disabilities. Within the Delhi University EOC we did have a grudge that they do things on their own and do not completely follow the DU guidelines. However, as a disabled I understand that these are administrative and political issues and willingness to empower the disabled is not the problem as far as St. Stephens is concerned. This media article could have named so many other colleges all over the country and then its claims would not have been contested by anyone. But I know that kind of article would have attracted less readers.smile -Original Message- From: AccessIndia [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of P. Hello, Before following all the steps we should remember that the first and formost thing is whenever we attach the data card to the computer at the first time we should install it and then follow all the steps. Remember with out installing we cannot do anything. And yes, no need to go on web search before that you will get edit box here you have to type the name of those site which you want and then press enter on it it will ask you doyou want to connect to the internet? Press enter on it. You can start work now. But yes again you have to go to the internet or go to run dialog box and type the same name of site then only you can work properly other wise not. No need to install again and again once you install it correctly. Thanks. -- God examine those whom loves he the most.
