Hi,
Ketan Sir,
Thank you for your answer. I visited www.tunein.com as recommend by
you, searched for 'BBC Radio 1', chose the desired search result, and
'BBC Radio 1' started playing live. I will keep in mind your other
suggestions just in case tunein.com should not work in the future.
Sanjay Sir,
BBC Radio 1 seems to be allowed to be listened to in India as well,
live at least, unsure of archives.
I've bookmarked the BBC Radio 1 page now, in order to gain quick
access to it whenever required.
Thanks to both of you for your suggestions, my query is solved for now.

Hi,
Although I admit that I haven't followed this feature's usage,
including this thread very much/carefully, I ask, why is this feature
useless to screen reader users? I'm asking totally out of curiosity,
because I too at some stage wanted to investigate into this and use
it...

O no no no. bluestack is the virtual environment with in the
windows
interface. your phone need not to connect to the internet in order
to
use
bluestack since the platform itself is excluded from your handset.
Once
you
started to use the whatsapp with the mobile number which is
associated
with
your account it cannot be used it on the phone. what I mean to say
is
you
cannot be active on the whatsapp on the same number on multiple
devices.
and this bluestack is not much keyboard friendly. only you can
perform
basic navigations that's it. you cannot read the current screen
and

cannot
get access to notifications shades. there are severel limitations
compare
to these talkback justures.

You can listen to most of their radio stations live except some sports
events due to limited rights. I frequently listen radio4 and some of their
programmes are archived. If you are talking about latest music releases,
then I doubt.

Dear all,
Due to my growing interest in Western music, I want to listen to a
show on Sunday at BBC Radio 1.
I reside in India, so would I be able to legally listen to BBC Radio
1's archives/live?
Where could I find the archives of its shows? I particulary am looking
for the official top 40 song's chart show broadcasted on Sunday.
I would appreciate any assistance.

2015-01-23 Thread raaju
Hello, extremely sorry to inform you that I have never experience any
"online shopping", as in our village, no online sopping is available except
naptowl.com, and in naptowl I didn't get any such headset. any ways, in our
local mobile shop, I've purchase this headset on rs 1000. actually I have a
big interest in collecting different kind of headsets.

Disabled people are God's mistake, says Goa CM Parsekar

Goa chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Wednesday said some people are born
with disabilities due to the "mistake" and "negligence" committed by God.

"There are some brothers and sisters in the society, who are born with certain
disabilities. God forgets to give them certain things. That is negligence on
the part of God and for that the child has to suffer for entire life," Parsekar
said.

"Therefore, NGOs like Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG) have come
into existence. The thing which God could not do, they are doing. They are
rectifying the mistake committed by God. I would say NGOs' work is more than
that of God," he added.

The chief minister was speaking at the inauguration of 'We Care Film Festival'
on disability issues organised by DRAG at Margao town around 35 kms from Panaji
Wednesday morning.

However, after the event, DRAG condemned chief minister's remarks, stating that
the disabled were born to show the power of God.

"CM Parskear, while speaking at the inauguration of 'We Care Film Festival' on
disability at Chowgule college, Margao has said disabled people are mistake of
God and NGOs are doing yeoman service by serving the disabled in rectifying
God's mistake," DRAG chief Avelino D'Sa said in a statement in Panaji.

"DRAG strongly objects to this statement and clarified that if God has created
a person disabled it is to show people the power of God. Disabled people have
more strength and will power and they are differently-abled, hence they are
stronger than the normal people," he added.

Parsekar's comments came at a time when his cabinet colleague Ramesh Tawadkar
had courted a controversy last week when he said that the state would set up
centres to make LGBT people "normal". The minister had retracted his statement
after widespread criticism.

 Hi,
Although I admit that I haven't followed this feature's usage,
including this thread very much/carefully, I ask, why is this feature
useless to screen reader users? I'm asking totally out of curiosity,
because I too at some stage wanted to investigate into this and use
 it...

O no no no. bluestack is the virtual environment with in the
 windows
interface. your phone need not to connect to the internet in order
to
 use
bluestack since the platform itself is excluded from your handset.
 Once
you
started to use the whatsapp with the mobile number which is
associated
with
your account it cannot be used it on the phone. what I mean to say
is
 you
cannot be active on the whatsapp on the same number on multiple
devices.
and this bluestack is not much keyboard friendly. only you can
 perform
basic navigations that's it. you cannot read the current screen and
cannot
get access to notifications shades. there are severel limitations
 compare
to these talkback justures.

Re: [AI] listening to BBC Radio 1 in India

2015-01-23 Thread Ketan Kothari

Dear Bhavya,

There are several ways that you can listen to BBC radio 1 in India legally.
You can go to their website www.bbc.co.uk and go to radio link and you have
plenty of option. Otherwise install tapin radio (search google for exact
URL). or go to www.tunein.com and search for BBC radio1. About archives I
can't tell as I am not into western music. I hope this helps.

With best wishes,

Ketan

Subject: [AI] listening to BBC Radio 1 in India

Dear all,
Due to my growing interest in Western music, I want to listen to a
show on Sunday at BBC Radio 1.
I reside in India, so would I be able to legally listen to BBC Radio
1's archives/live?
Where could I find the archives of its shows? I particulary am looking
for the official top 40 song's chart show broadcasted on Sunday.
I would appreciate any assistance.

Re: [AI] about seo

2015-01-23 Thread Pinkesh Tailor
Hi, yes SEO is totally possible for visually impaired. I have done
this course and there are various method by which you could improve
your ranking with search engines. But please remember that you are
going to work for SEO either to promote your or your clients products
or services whether commercial or not for profit making. One more
thing in case you would be starting from scratch, giving your website
for development would cost you a handsome amount, on the other hand if
you are consulting some client, you need not worry on this. So after
learning SEO, I learnt content management system, as I wanted to earn
some part time income through internet marketing. Currently I am
running an affiliate marketing website at
www.tripleclicks.com/15375763/

Yes, this creatures is verry much exist in the earth. But you won't get
 this
facility on earphone. If you get the Bluetooth earphone, you'll only
 get

 1
sided earphone. You have to consider purchessing Bluetooth headphone.
 Nokia
bh510 has such facility, and the price is also very much reasonable

Hey all, I want to purchase a good quality wireless/Bluetooth earphone
for the purpose of using it on my laptop and android moto g phone.
The earphone should be capable of being connected simultaneously on
laptop and mobile phone at the same time. Does this creature exist on

O no no no. bluestack is the virtual environment with in the windows
interface. your phone need not to connect to the internet in order
to

use
bluestack since the platform itself is excluded from your handset.
Once
you
started to use the whatsapp with the mobile number which is
associated

with
your account it cannot be used it on the phone. what I mean to say
is

you
cannot be active on the whatsapp on the same number on multiple
devices.
and this bluestack is not much keyboard friendly. only you can
perform
basic navigations that's it. you cannot read the current screen and
cannot
get access to notifications shades. there are severel limitations
compare
to these talkback justures.

Re: [AI] Visually challenged parent...Single Child...How to bridge the gap?

2015-01-23 Thread payal jethra
Friends,

Apologies for a delayed response ...but, many thanks to all for
sharing an overwhelmingly varied number of suggestions on how to
bridge the gap between a visually challenged single parent and a
sighted child. It was very touching to read so many ideas from so many
people. It sure seems that there are many more work-arounds than I had
singly thought of.

In fact, in a matter of days, a friend from my neighbourhood has
already agreed to spend time twice or thrice a week to help improve
with my son's hand writing!

Cheers!

Re: [AI] access whatsapp through web browser

2015-01-23 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
I hold this opinion, just because of my own experience of not being
able to scan qr code after several attempts, and reading reviews of
other users on eyesfree list.
Please read the following opions:

Allan WKF:
1. To scan the QR code, you must login to web.whatsapp.com with a
chrome desktop browser.

2. You must run the latest version of WhatsApp or at lease version
2.11.498 and the latest version is version 2.11.505.

3. At this point of time, there's no easy way to point your phone
exactly to the QR code display on the computer screen, You should
ask a sighted help unfortunately. But however, if you wish to give it
a try, the QR code is showing towards the left side of the
computer screen, and you point your phone rear camera to it. If you
success by any chance, your phone will give you 2 vibrate to
alert you that you have successful.

4. It is not a nice toy for us (screen reader user) as of JAWS 16.0,
the edit box which we type message, will come out of edit mode
after we type a letter. We have to press spacebar to go back to the
edit mode after input eatch letter in the edit box. It is not
working at all in NVDA 2014.4

2. Hi,

As I said before, so far there's no way to point to the correct
position to the QR code show on the computer screen, unless you get
a sighted friend help. Furthermore, even if you successfully get it
pare, it is useless so far for a screen reader user.

If we have to press space bar to enable text mode after inputting each
letter, where is the convenience then?

Hi,
Although I admit that I haven't followed this feature's usage,
including this thread very much/carefully, I ask, why is this feature
useless to screen reader users? I'm asking totally out of curiosity,
because I too at some stage wanted to investigate into this and use
it...

Re: [AI] access whatsapp through web browser

2015-01-23 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi,
Although I admit that I haven't followed this feature's usage,
including this thread very much/carefully, I ask, why is this feature
useless to screen reader users? I'm asking totally out of curiosity,
because I too at some stage wanted to investigate into this and use
it...

O no no no. bluestack is the virtual environment with in the windows
interface. your phone need not to connect to the internet in order to
 use
bluestack since the platform itself is excluded from your handset. Once
you
started to use the whatsapp with the mobile number which is associated
with
your account it cannot be used it on the phone. what I mean to say is
 you
cannot be active on the whatsapp on the same number on multiple devices.
and this bluestack is not much keyboard friendly. only you can perform
basic navigations that's it. you cannot read the current screen and
cannot
get access to notifications shades. there are severel limitations
 compare
to these talkback justures.

2015-01-23 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
Oh nice, I want a portable headphone. Yes, should be of both side ear.
I am afraid I chose wrong terminology then!
I need such Bluetooth headphone which should be portable one, mean
capable of being fit into my shirt pocket, long battery life, at least
10 - 15 hours of play on one charge. should not look awkward if I am
wearing it while being on the road!
Nokia headphone is having very less battery backup.

[AI] Reading maths/statistics notations /formuli

2015-01-23 Thread Dr Smitha V B
Dear All,

A student from Kerala who is doing MA (Economics) wishes to know how she can

use Jaws to read her Statistics text books which contain notations and

formulae.

Appreciate if someone can provide guidance ASAP as she has her final exams

coming up and the person who has been assisting her is no longer available.

She is relying on PDF text books purchased from the publishers.

Can anyone provide guidance / accessible reading material in some other

format ? Are there other mailing lists where Indian blind students in the

fields of Maths and Stats interact ?

Please help.

O no no no. bluestack is the virtual environment with in the windows
interface. your phone need not to connect to the internet in order to use
bluestack since the platform itself is excluded from your handset. Once
you
started to use the whatsapp with the mobile number which is associated
with

your account it cannot be used it on the phone. what I mean to say is you
cannot be active on the whatsapp on the same number on multiple devices.
and this bluestack is not much keyboard friendly. only you can perform
basic navigations that's it. you cannot read the current screen and
cannot

get access to notifications shades. there are severel limitations compare
to these talkback justures.

presently. use latest jaws and latest chrome it works charm!. to get
the

web access, you need to update in to latest whatsapp. then, open
web.whatsapp.com from the chrome. then, activate your internet on mobile
and open hwwhatsapp and locate to whatsapp web. then it starts scanning
the

QR code via mobile camra. to stop the web whatsapp, you should tap on
logout from all computer from your mobile whatsapp.

[AI] Reading notations and formuli in statistics

[AI] Herald: Now, CM takes the faux-pas route to notoriety

2015-01-23 Thread avinash shahi
The compliment given by CM to DRAG (An NGO) has an interesting
background; this NGo had threatened to sue Goa government in November;
visit this URL:
http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/other-states/disability-rights-group-threaten-to-sue-goa-government/article6629727.ece
http://www.heraldgoa.in/Goa/Now-CM-takes-the-fauxpas-route-to-notoriety/83844.html
And then read this report which is better containing details

Speaking at the launch of the We Care film festival at the Chowgule
College, Margao, Parsekar said, "God has given us hands, legs and
other parts of the body to lead a normal life. But, God has forgotten
to give these parts of the body to many children. This negligence on
the part of God has made many a child to suffer throughout his life."
Complimenting NGOs for taking up the cause of the special children,
the Chief Minister said, "Therefore, NGOs like Disability Rights
Association of Goa have come into existence. The thing which God could
not do, they are doing. They are rectifying the mistake committed by
God. I would say NGOs' work is more than that of God."
DRAG, however, condemned the chief minister's remarks, stating that
the disabled were born to show the power of God.
"DRAG strongly objects to this statement and clarified that if God has
created a person disabled it is to show people the power of God.
Disabled people have more strength and will power and they are
differently-abled, hence they are stronger than the normal people,"
DRAG chief Avelino D'Sa said in a statement.
Later speaking to Herald Parsekar said, "Why should I reply? I had
just said that at times God also makes mistakes and there are people
in this world to correct it."
Speaking further, the Chief Minister said that the government has come
out with many programmes for special children. "In Goa, we have 25
educational institutions working to take care of special children. We
have to change our attitude towards the special children to raise
their level of confidence. They indeed need special attention," he
said.
Saying the government is giving financial assistance to the 25
institutions, besides providing Braille library facilities and grants
to physiotherapy centres, hearing aids and wheel chairs, he said that
the government and the NGOs still need to cover around 14,000 special
children in the State.
Parsekar's comments came a week after his cabinet colleague Ramesh
Tawadkar had said that the State would set up centres to make LGBT
people "normal". The minister had retracted his statement after
widespread criticism.
