Re: [AI] Regarding PMSBY and PMJJBY.

2015-05-12 Thread sampath raj rao
Hi could any one throw light on the term Social Security scheme", what
policies are included in the scheme?

I have another issue in hand:
Yesterday When I tried to enroll in the scheme through SBI online
banking social security link my form was not accepted for not filling
the name of the spouse eventhough I mentioned as unmarried in the
combo box.
Also how to access the graphical calender therein?
Have anyone used the online app.? Please guide to resolve the problem.

Thanking you,
Regards,
S.Sampath Raj Rao.

[AI] education issue of blind student

2015-05-12 Thread GANDIGUDE SANTOSH SANJAY
Please take the positive issue in this regard and approach to authorities for
necessary actions related to facilities, schemes, concessions, modification in
curriculum and legal examinations of Persons with Disabilities.

The University Authorities violating the provisions of "The Persons with
Disabilities(Equal Opportunities,Protection of Rights and Full Participation)

The universities are not implementing the legal provisions by law, which were
already implemented in India.
All Universities should take following necessary action for the benefit of
Persons with Disabilities specially Visually Impaired:-

1)The universities should follow the provisions of 'CHAPTER V EDUCATION' of The
Persons with Disabilities(Equal Opportunities,Protection of Rights and Full
Participation) Act,1995,which are given below:

Section 27(f) provides "Providing every child with disability free of cost
special books and equipments needed for his education.

their curriculum."

Section 31 provides "Educational institutions to provide amanuensis to students
with Visual handicaps:
All educational institutions shall provide or cause to be provided amanuensis

॰A person whose employment is to write what another dictates or to copy what
another has written.

2)The Universities should constitute the Department of Educational Empowerment
of Persons with Disabilities(EEPD).
All disability related procedures and matters should be forwarded to this
department for necessary actions.

3)The University should also constitute An Educational Empowerment and Advisory
Committee on Persons with Disabilities(EEACPD) for understanding the

Central and State Governments.

4)The study material, question papers should be provided in a accessible format.

5)The Universities should gives an alternative question paper for Visually

well as practical examinations for making use of scribe/reader/lab assistant.
All the candidates with disabilities not availing the facility of
scribe/laboratory assistant/reader will also be allowed the compensatory time

Survey Seeks Accessibility Feedback on Recent UK Election
J.J. Meddaugh yesterday 4:37 PM ET
The Royal National Institute of Blind People is seeking feedback
regarding the accessibility or lack thereof for the recent uK election
in May. According to the survey page, "7 out of 10 blind and partially
sighted people were prevented from voting during last May's European
and local elections, because voting was not accessible."
If you voted in this year's election and are blind or partially
sighted, you can offer your feedback using the survey linked from this
post. The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes.

Hey there, one more to include,
It is applicable only for persons who are not covered under any other
social security scheme.

holders having 18 -70 years of age is eligible- insurance premium Rs

Rs 1/- lac on permanently disability.

PMJJBY:, Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojan - All savings bank
account holders between age group of 18-50 years age are
eligible-Premium yearly Rs. 330/-- amount of claim is Rs 2 lac on
death.

Both the policies can be taken. It is booked with bank branch or Bank
Mitras. Service tax is exempted. Life insurance cover is less than 1/-
per day and accidental cover is on 1/- per month. Both policy premium
is around 94 paise daily.
It is social driven scheme for all citizens.
It is most suited to drivers, home servants even to beggers and down
trodden people of aiciery as the amount of premium is very less
One can donate the amount by giving this policy which will be great
gesture towards poor person. Just donate as derive immense pleasure in

is a life insurance which also covers natural death and the other is
an accidental insurance which covers any kind of accidental death. The
sum insured in both the plans is for 2 lakhs. If you have a joint

Hi, all the banks are offering this project, as this is under Prime
Minister and not of any individual bank. Even the co-operative banks
have to promote these scheme. Both of the schemes offer insurance. One
is a life insurance which also covers natural death and the other is
an accidental insurance which covers any kind of accidental death. The
sum insured in both the plans is for 2 lakhs. If you have a joint
account, the second account holder can be the nominy, but it cannot be
towards eachother for the same account.

Re: [AI] Union bank conducted special training program for blind staff

2015-05-12 Thread Prashant Naik
Dear Tilak,

I am replying on your Finacle usage by non banker question. Finacle is a
core banking solution and only authorized users of that particular bank. I
mean staffs with assigned roles are given work class access. As in your
case as a TATA company employee only you can access your internal program
but not any outsider. In India 7-8 public sector banks and few private
banks are using Finacle CBS.

Friends, this special training program (pilot batch) of Union Bank was
truly unique as it was conceptualized and implemented by bank’s internal
resources and staff training facilities. We are hoping many new accessible
initiatives for benefit of visually impaired staff will be rolled out in
the near future as assured by bank’s top executives during training.

Best,

Prashant Naik

Subject: [AI] Attention bankers- regarding EMI versus loan tenure reduction

Dear Learned bankers,

After few months of delay my bank, Bank of Baroda has finally reduced
home loan interest rate to 10.00 from 10.25%. However, it is hardly
good news as the bank has told me that the tenure of the home loan
will be reduced and not the due EMI. Therefore, I feel no real respite
in the immediate time as “In the long run, we are all dead.” )

SO any banker on the list can please let me know that if it is the
legitimate thing BoB doing, or they should ideally give customer
options to choose from to either to reduce EMIs or the tenure of the
loan.

In case if you think that BoB is wrong, please let know how I can take
up the matter with them.

Thanking you in advance...

Regards
Ekinath

[AI] Increasing banking web page accessibility woes

2015-05-12 Thread Ekinath Khedekar
Hello Members,

I feel helpless when I see all the banks revamping their sites for the
convenience of their sighted customers and do not pay attention to
screen reader accessibility standards.

I was hitherto used to praise ICICI Bank’s accessibility but today
after they have revamped their site could not do anything, but only
log in.

I took customer executive help but could not ‘control+find” any word
on the page that he was referring to.

I am sure that new web technologies are not being met by the screen
readers or they not accessible from the beginning.

As I said earlier, it seems as if new world of technology is becoming
more and more inaccessible.
Alas, a hope from any expert, do please help.

NVDA also was of no help.

Regards

Has he responded to your email? Can you brief us his response?

On another note should we run a few change.org campaigns?

What you did was truly gutsy boss!

My suggestions:

1. Launch a complaint on pgportal.gov.in and attach all the documents you
have. Request that the complaint be viewed by the PM on PRAGATI.
2. Send the details to Kanchan mam and the Delhi advocates who are fighting
with UPSC, and send your details to DEoPWD and ask them to put this before
the committee which is considering the exam guidelines.
3. Write to every official possible be it PMO, or the concerned ministry or
the top officials of UPSC itself.

Lets see how they react to it.

[AI] Attention bankers- regarding EMI versus loan tenure reduction

2015-05-12 Thread Ekinath Khedekar

Regards
Ekinath
