Pankaj,

You need to take some sighted assistance when trying to register the
current version of Kindle for PC. That's a bug in the current

I dont keep the books but I could work with the punit to get all the books
he needed. The first choice would be to go to DFI libraries spread across

the caption itself mentions of card acceptance infra structure. Therefore
if we

In my view, this is exactly the place we need to intervene.
At any rate, even if not, we shall make awareness of our needs and

Harish,

I do not see any references to the consumer end of things or credit
card terminal specifics. The paper is dealing with the backend
infrastructure.

There
appear to be more cards than terminals. therefore I am uncertain if
this would be the best place to voice accessibility concerns.

RBI Seeks Feedback on Concept Paper on Card Acceptance Infrastructure
The Reserve Bank of India has today placed on its website the Concept
Paper on Card Acceptance Infrastructure. Comments may be emailed or
sent by post to the Chief General Manager, Department of Payment and
Settlement Systems, Reserve Bank of India, Central Office, 14th Floor,
Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg, Mumbai -
41 on
or before April 15, 2016.
Background
The Reserve Bank's over-arching Vision for Payment Systems in recent
years has been the encouragement of electronic payments and migration
to a "less-cash"
society. The policy focus of the Reserve Bank has been to facilitate
the growth in electronic payment services and also ensuring safety and
security of such transactions. Recent Government announcements support
and reinforce the need to migrate from cash payments and to promote
card and other electronic payments.
With increasing customer confidence and concerted effort of all
stakeholders, a growing trend in retail electronic payments has been
observed. However, there is a concern that the commensurate growth in
infrastructure, particularly those that facilitate electronic payment
for purchase of goods and services, has not kept pace with the
requirements of all segments of users across all geographical
locations. Regulatory intervention in the form of rationalization of
merchant discount rate (MDR) a few years earlier has also not had the
desired catalytic effect. Growth in card acceptance infrastructure at
merchant locations has been slow.
The "economics" of card payments plays an important role in ensuring
greater and wider participation of all stakeholders involved in the
card payments value chain and, as such, any strategy geared towards
expansion of the infrastructure in a "managed" way has to also address
these issues. There is, therefore, a need to examine holistically the
relevant issues that come in the way of acceptance of card payments
and deployment of infrastructure for the same so as to ensure
continued and accelerated growth in card acceptance.
This concept paper has been prepared taking into account the inputs
gathered during various interactions with the stakeholders. The paper
outlines strategic options for addressing the issue of both expansion

Re: [AI] Regarding kindle for PC with accessability plugins

2016-03-27 Thread mukesh jain
hello,
You can use kindle for PC with accessibility plug-in. Kindle for PC
with Accessibility Plugin is a free, downloadable application that
runs on Microsoft Windows. It provides the following accessibility
features:
text-to-speech reading, voice-guided menu navigation, large font
sizes, high contrast reading mode, keyboard navigation, and accessible
shortcuts. Because this software is an assistive technology, there are
no restrictions on text-to-speech reading. In order to use the
text-to-speech feature, an external screen reader program must be
installed and running on the Windows PC. The external screen reader is
used to read aloud menus and navigation items, while book text is read
by a built-in text-to-speech engine. Tested screen readers include
JAWS, NVDA, and Microsoft Narrator.

You can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate the Kindle for PC with
Accessibility Plugin as follows:
• Start reading (from the top of the page) - CTRL, R
• Pause/Restart reading (from current position) - Space bar or F6
• Read current sentence from beginning - CTRL, (comma)
• Read previous sentence - CTRL, Shift, Up Arrow
• Skip forward one sentence - CTRL, Shift, Down Arrow
• Toggle voice (male/female) - CTRL, Shift, V
• Increase speech rate - Shift, +
• Decrease speech rate - Shift, -
• Announce current location within a book - CTRL, P
• Toggle continuous reading - CTRL, Shift, C
• Read instructions - CTRL, I
