Good Afternoon.
I have purchased KNFB Reader for android mobile online through credit

message to buy now. The support team told to re-install it. But it

Try these steps:

Press window key for the search box.

Type customize and wait. Activate the third option, i.e. Customize icons on
the taskbar by pressing enter on it.

It will open a dialogue box. Now press tab and you will find combo boxes for
your antivirus, jaws etc.

These combos have three options, (1) Show icon and notifications, (2) Hide
icon and notifications and (3) Only show notifications.

Use arrow keys to select an option for each item. If you want to keep an
item on the system tray, select the first option.

Now tab over to the ok button and activate it.

Hope this helps.

I think, you must have seen the itel phones with king voices. These are
quite good at rs. 1,500. I suppose, those who do not need internet and
email can use these phones. These have keypads and voices, just as if a
basic phone with talks. The only problem is that it does not echo the
characters we type or read character by character. It may improve later.

6. The device display should be given with 4.5 or, 5.5 creeps.

People can operate the touch devices without any problems, but, still

2. In the crouded places, the user has to use headphones allways.
3. The voice dictation does not make any sense some times. For
example, if the user does not have internet connection, and offline

4. If the user is facing the issues with the battery, then, he/she has

want to move that to System Tray. Hope I'm clear.

2016-12-16 Thread Amiyo Biswas

I do not wish to talk more about the operating system.
But, I would like to suggest some specifications here.
1. The phone’s cost should be in between 7 to 8000
2. The device should have minimum of 1gb rom.
3. The device should be operated with touch as well as keypad.
4. All the keys has to invoked with different functionalities. For
example, if the user pressed menu plus 1, the messaging app should
open.
5. The keyboard should not restricted only with typing. If the user is
out of edit feelds, the keys has to function with other operations.
6. The device display should be given with 4.5 or, 5.5 creeps.

People can operate the touch devices without any problems, but, still
there is some issues persists.

1. The users has to carry 2 to 3 gadgets example, Bluetooth keypad,
headphones, chargers allways.
2. In the crouded places, the user has to use headphones allways.
3. The voice dictation does not make any sense some times. For
example, if the user does not have internet connection, and offline
voice dictation does not working, then, the, user has to struggle. For
convey the messages/mails.
4. If the user is facing the issues with the battery, then, he/she has
to carry powerbank. Extra Burdon

If the developer is willing to make the product, then, they have to
quickly start the project. Before the eye-d keyboard comes into the
market.

for example, in the search feeld, if I type cricket, some of the
suggested results will be displayed below.
but, the screen readers does not anounced automatically.
the user has to press downarrow to no the 1st results from the combo box.

I hope you understand the scenario.

[AI] Here are Copies of the RPWD Act 2016 and Amendments Alongwith An Earnest Appeal

2016-12-16 Thread Vikas Gupta
Dear All:
I am provoked to thank Mr. Subhash Vashisht for underlining various
issues and (I have been told that) there are many other similar issues
in the new Act. (Due to some technical reasons, I am unable to respond
in the same string where Mr. Vashisht wrote just a while ago). It is
my sincerest appeal (in my individual capacity) to disabled friends
and other well-wishers to understand that history does not teach us to
indulge in euphoria, but to remain alert. It is all the more required
when our leaders indulge in thank giving for the Government, rather
than educating the community and involving it in the deliberations by
procuring copy of the bill before it is enacted. . I wish if the
amendments and the final draft would have been shared with us before
its enactment. How disabled community can allow in a democratic
country some enactment where the bill is not shared with them at the
advance stage? IN this sense, it is no different from the ordinance
root, against which our friends had fought so vigorously just a few
years back. Particularly noticeable is that the bureaucracy has
cleverly taken many powers on substantial matters in its own hand
rather than clarifying in the act itself. I am not in a position to
give elaborate examples here as unfortunately I am caught completely
at some other fronts for some time. However, I am sure that the line
of discussion that Mr. Vashisht has started will be taken further.
Today I also heard Pankaj Sinha (a blind advocate) at a press
conference underlining many such shortcomings of the bill (now an act)
for PWD. Only one issue I would like to share at this moment. I had
hoped, particularly because I fought for the rights of our community
in the insurance sector, that the new law would provide in unequivocal
terms that in any scheme disabled persons will not be liable for any
extra payment or reduced benefits. We may still fight for it in the
court and perhaps win as well. However, I have been told that the Act
does not make such a bold statement which is otherwise already
accepted by the judiciary in the case that I earlier filed on this
issue. Instead, the act emphasizes that the Government will frame
insurance policy for the disabled. It means that the focus is on a
separate policy, and not so much on universal equality for disabled in
the insurance sector. There could be many such examples. Of course,
the Act still needs to be ratified by the President. It needs to be
notified in the gazette. And the Government is also required to make
appropriate rules for its implementation. The scope for intervention
would be somewhat reduced now. Still, I would suggest that instead of
rejoicing, it is crucial for us to be not only vigilant, but to make
effective interventions at each of these levels. Good if leaders come
forward. However, we will not surrender ourselves to anyone
completely. I hope that each one of us, in whatever capacity we can,
we will not allow the vested interests of any kind to compromise with
our rights. Let us organize discussion on this as early as possible;
and let us plan strategies for ensuring that no damage happens to our
already accomplished rights. This in no way denies the good features
of today’s enactment. But it is to ensure that the bureaucracy neither
complicates these achievements, nor dilutes the earlier gains.

Re: [AI] Fwd: On passage of RPD Bill

2016-12-16 Thread Amar Jain
May I add that even to enjoy the fruits of the 'good provisions', we will have
to fight for the implementation? The reason being withdrawal of commissions,
which enjoyed regulatory powers. Mind the fact that commissioner has no such
powers in the functions prescribed. I fail to understand how is commissioner
expected to play regulatory role as claimed by the government.

2016-12-16 Thread Amar Jain
Much depends on the final copy of bill, but the only impact on private sector
will be in relation to accessibility. Let me caution, that also depends on what
shape the rules take.

From the perspective of professionals like us, no difference exists, apart from
government sites getting accessible, that too will hardly matter in your case.

5. The keyboard should not restricted only with typing. If the user is

For

4. If the user is facing the issues with the battery, then, he/she has
to carry powerbank. Extra Burdon

If the developer is willing to make the product, then, they have to
quickly start the project. Before the eye-d keyboard comes into the

Dear colleagues,

Despite many good provisions from UNCRPD in the RPD Bill 2016, the amendments
brought in by the Hon'ble Minister in the 2014 Bill have greatly impacted the
reservation provisions in education & employment. This takes away in a
clandestine manner what was given by the Act of 1995. Now we know why it was in
the shroud of so much of secrecy. We didn't know what was being tabled in the
parliament.

By the amendments, section 32 which was independent of section 33 for the
purposes of identification of posts has now been made dependent on section 33.
the review of list of identified post has been disconnected with the
requirement of updation of list in light of advancement in technology - meaning
thereby that the list might be further squeezed in the name of reviews. The
reservation provision of section 33 as existed earlier even gave us the right
to seek reservation in promotion and its interpretation gave us positive
Supreme Court judgements too. However, in this bill, the reservation in
promotion has been disconnected from section 33 and made an optional subject on
which states could make rules. This has been done by the babus to negate the SC
judgement and also many High court judgements on the subject. Despite a
substantial increase in the number of disabilities, there is no corresponding
increase in reservation. Remember, the Standing Committee suggested 7%
reservation in favour of disabled and the draft of
2015 said 5%- this has been reduced to 4% leaving the disabilities to fight
among themselves. Also a recent judgement of Delhi High Court questioning the
criteria of 40% disability in case of people with mental illness has not been
addressed.

I must admit that the government fulfilled its promise and has shown its
commitment, and deserves accolades but this a retrograde law as far as section
32 & 33 is concerned and most employees with disabilities or those looking at
the govt. employment are bound to feel dejected. I feel sad that our disability
leaders have been rejoicing without knowing what has been taken away from
persons with disabilities. Perhaps it doesn't affect them!
I have a better copy of the amendments brought but these are not screen reader
friendly. If you want, ask me off the list.

Re: [AI] Fwd: On passage of RPD Bill

2016-12-16 Thread SC Vashishth
Dear colleagues,

Despite many good provisions from UNCRPD in the RPD Bill 2016, the
amendments brought in by the Hon'ble Minister in the 2014 Bill have greatly
impacted the reservation provisions in education & employment. This takes
away in a clandestine manner what was given by the Act of 1995. Now we know
why it was in the shroud of so much of secrecy. We didn't know what was
being tabled in the parliament.

By the amendments, section 32 which was independent of section 33 for the
purposes of identification of posts has now been made dependent on section
33. the review of list of identified post has been disconnected with the
requirement of updation of list in light of advancement in technology -
meaning thereby that the list might be further squeezed in the name of
reviews. The reservation provision of section 33 as existed earlier even
gave us the right to seek reservation in promotion and its interpretation
gave us positive Supreme Court judgements too. However, in this bill, the
reservation in promotion has been disconnected from section 33 and made an
optional subject on which states could make rules. This has been done by
the babus to negate the SC judgement and also many High court judgements on
the subject. Despite a substantial increase in the number of disabilities,
there is no corresponding increase in reservation. Remember, the Standing
Committee suggested 7% reservation in favour of disabled and the draft of
2015 said 5%- this has been reduced to 4% leaving the disabilities to fight
among themselves. Also a recent judgement of Delhi High Court questioning
the criteria of 40% disability in case of people with mental illness has
not been addressed.

I must admit that the government fulfilled its promise and has shown its
commitment, and deserves accolades but this a retrograde law as far as
section 32 & 33 is concerned and most employees with disabilities or those
looking at the govt. employment are bound to feel dejected. I feel sad that
our disability leaders have been rejoicing without knowing what has been
taken away from persons with disabilities. Perhaps it doesn't affect them!
I have a better copy of the amendments brought but these are not screen
reader friendly. If you want, ask me off the list.

Re: [AI] Issues while using electronics media ..

2016-12-16 Thread Vedprakash
Thanks for taking the initiative.
The following Icici Insurance website is inaccessible.
https://www.iciciprulife.com/
The problem is that as we enter on the login link, a child window opens
having different options to choose from. Like agent login, customer login
etc. But this is not accessible through the keyboard. The mouse user can
select the appropriate option but the keyboard user cannot.
I took up the matter with the customer service. They assure that the problem
would be resolved but it has been six months and the problem still persists.
Could anything be done regarding this?

RPWD Bill slated to empower a large number of disabled people.
HYDERABAD: With the Rajya Sabha passing the Rights of Persons with
Disabilities (PWD) Bill, 2014 on Wednesday reactions came pouring in
from groups as well as individuals working for safeguarding the rights
of the disabled. It is being claimed that the Bill, which on its
clearance by Lok Sabha will replace the PWD Act, 1995, will make a
large number of people eligible for more rights and entitlements on
the basis of their disability. Source:

Rajya Sabha clears Disabilities Bill, 2014: Here are the key
highlights.Rajya Sabha on Wednesday passed The Right of Persons with
Disabilities Bill, 2014 with amendments. The bill will now go back to
Lok Sabha and once cleared, will replace the Persons with Disabilities
(Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation)
Act, 1995. The legislation, which has been pending in Rajya Sabha
since 2014, was drafted on the basis of the recommendations of the
Sudha Kaul Committee, under the Ministry of Social Justice and
Empowerment. According to the 2011 Census, the number of disabled in
India stands at 2.68 crore, or 2.21 per cent of the population. The
Bill is more likely to make a larger number of people eligible for
rights and entitlements by reason of their disability since it
recognises more disablities as compared to the 1995 Act. Apart from
this, the Bill also complies with the UN Convention on Rights of
Persons with Disabilities. Source:
