Re: [AI] Indian language books on Amazon Kindle
Hello Viraj It looks like some specific issue with the computer you are using. NVDA Vocalizer voices are working well on Indian language web sites and also on Kindle. This can certainly be solved once you have the computer you are planning to use it on. [AI] About IMILAP: matrimonial site for disabled
Dear friends, I came across www.imilap.com a matrimony site for disabled. It is simple, easy to use and very much accessible. I could see profiles being updated very recently. When I spoke to the representative, I understood its a North American site which has only representatives in India without any office. They have premium plans which are paid and offer benefits like contacting other members. Wanted to check out whether any friends on the list have tried it out. Replies awaited. -- G. What is the issue you are facing with apps like VitalSource Bookshelf? This is fully usable with both jaws and NVDA. The application also supports whole variety of content including math equations. If you have updated windows 10, then ou should also try Microsoft Edge browser to read the EPUB documents. [AI] When a man travels, his mind travels too.
The same is true for women as well. Just in case someone points out otherwise. What is it about travel that excites a human being or convinces her enough to go to an unknown location, meet new people, try food that throws her taste buds on a joy ride? Is it more than a break from the mundane everyday life? Travelling is a basic human urge. The theory goes that humans migrated from one land mass to the other to explore and that’s how the whole planet got inhabited. So it runs deeper in all of us than we give credit to it. When you get that itch to go somewhere new, you now know that it is an evolutionary trait and is not just a knee jerk reaction to a showdown you had with your boss. Travelling is also an adult need. To go to a new place, experience it on your own without the influence of your parents. Without them making choices for you. Of course, parents have our best interests in mind always. But there are moments in life when one needs to branch out. Make our own choices and be okay with failing in some and succeeding in others. And taking responsibility for our choices. That is adulting done the right way. One may say that travelling without our dear ones around is not the safest. But then, bathroom deaths are nearly three times higher than road deaths, as per a report published in New York Times. Not that we like to talk about ghastly things like death, but then to prove a point. Travelling also puts you in new surroundings and exposing you to new stimuli making your brain respond in a new way. When you are in such surroundings with new people, you will realise how easy it is to make friends. And like Helen Keller said: Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. So welcome to this adventure called travelling. We are Bat Travels, and we curate tours for visually impaired to travel with sighted as travelpals. [AI] some guidance needed
Dear chandru, I have seen on some occasions that JAWS does not speak the spelling in edit mode (F2 function key in excel). Normally this situation occurs when the worksheet is minimised. You can try to check if the worksheet is maximised by pressing alt + space bar + X” (standard command to maximise a window). Once the window is maximised, JAWS should be able to read the content of an excel cell using F2 function Key edit mode. Hope above helps. To delete the Local State file, follow these steps: 1. Close Google Chrome 2. Open run dialog or Windows Explorer 3. In address bar type in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data 4. To delete the Local State file, follow these steps: 1. Close Google Chrome 2. Open run dialog or Windows Explorer 3. In address bar type in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data 4. You’ll find “Local State” file there. Delete it 5. Open Google Chrome and see if has helped. 2) You could also try the following. Rename the Default folder which has all the Google extensions, Bookmarks, History, Jumplist icons etc. The reason why we are renaming it is because if it’s not the cause of the random freezes and crashes, then you don’t have to lose all this information. To rename the Default folder, follow these steps: 1. Close Google Chrome 2. Open Windows Explorer 3. In address bar type in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data 4. You’ll find the Default folder here. Rename it to “Default.old” 5. Open Google Chrome and see if this has helped stop the crashes. Remember to rename the folder back to its original name. Now you at least know if you need to look at at thse factors or not. 3) You might also want to checkout if the Flash extension is the culprit and causing the crashes, and see if it helps. To do so, follow these steps: 1. Open Google Chrome 2. In the address bar type in “about:plugins” 3. Find “Flash” and click on Disable 4. Restart Google Chrome and test it now 4) Check if your Google Chrome Shockwave Plugin is creating problems. Re: [AI] Accessible Epub Readers-
there is a way to access epub file without any third party peace. just rename that .epub with .zip and extract that zip file and you will get "index".htm and open it. all files will be in htm form and even you can open specific unit/chapter by locating them. [AI] Accessible Epub Readers-
Hi all Access Indians, As the subject suggests, I am in search for an accessible Epub reader for windows 10 with JAWS. Also, I do not use GoogleCrome as of now. I tried installing Azardi, Adobe, Caliber, Readium (GoogleCrome Extention), and Vitalsourse Bookshelf. But with none of them I was able to access my epub file. Is their any way to access such files with the above mentioned apps, or can someone please suggest any other application for the same? I have not tried converting epub file to either into word format, or PDF file format. Any leads on this will be highly appreciated. Re: [AI] Inclusive schools in delhi
Hello, I am looking for addmission of my son who is at presently studying in DPS karnal. I myself have studied in DPS rkp. And know about it well. But am looking at a school which has fewer kids in a class. And pays more attention to extra curricular activities. A few of the options I have heard of are vasant Valley, Shriram and pathways. But don't know if they have visually impaired kids in particular. Some schools in gurgaon are also inclusive.
