[AI] Cooking some basic items/snacks independently
Hi Everyone, I will soon be moving to the UK for higher studies. While I will have access to meals there, I will have to prepare my breakfast independently. I am focusing on learning how to make basic things like peanut butter, jam bread, corn flakes and the like. One area where I struggle is in being able to independently apply things like butter on toast, in that I sometimes create a mess when I try doing so or breaking the bread into pieces while trying to ensure that I am able to transfer the substance fully from the knife. Also, I am wondering if there are other such items which one can make as a blind person with relative ease, even if in the microwave. I know that one can cook things on the gas as well, but honestly speaking, I think learning it will involve too much effort and I doubt I will be able to muster the motivation or patience to cook stuff on the gas regularly, given the insane academic workload. Dear Mohith, Vatsal has posted in his earlier mails to this forum that he has certain memory loss which could have been the reason for posting the same content repeatedly. Re: [AI] shaving independently
Hi Mohith, I use a Gillette razor with blades in built as it prevents cuts. The blades can be changed after a few shaves. But when you learn a new skill, always bear in mind that you will start with a few cuts, hair patches because of improper shaves etc. That's the way we master a skill. Isn't it? If you look to start at a professional level, then better don't start it (smile). Jokes apart, start doing it today and tell me where you went wrong, if it all you go wrong. Once you are done, show your face to a sighted person before going out. I thoroughly touch the entire area of shave with my hands to see there are no areas of patchy hair left over. Re: [AI] shaving independently
adding to the above info trimmers can provide the style as you request at your brows but it can't give you a clean shave. I bought recently a philips trimmer, but I feel it takes more time to trim than to go for a clean shave. But the product is good and comes with various specs, look for a longer running time as to my knowledge it comes with 30 minutes, 45 or 60 minutes run time. its preferably to go for a longer time machine as it would go more comic if the machine runs low of charge after a half trim... Re: [AI] shaving independently
Hi, I would prefer to use razer to traditional blades, traditional blades may result at injury while setting iit in the handle / case. In the case of razers go for twin or thrin blade as far the roughness of beard is. Take precaution while you shave near your mutch as if you accidently touch your blade on the mutch it may go comic on face... There is nothing to fear as I have never gone to the barber for shave and I have been doing myself since my class eleven. On 9/8/18, sazid shaik wrote: > Hi dear friend, I am also a late blind. hi vamshi I have never done it when I had vision because that time I didn't have hairs on face. How much time takes shaving if you do it own. and Abhisar How to choose blade? is there any electronic shaver which can be use as a traditional shave. i'm blind by birth so, i don't understand the pain of people who became blind suddenly. i feeel we can understand our body better than anybody by our hands itself. shaving can be made very easy just by proper practice understanding our body and the blades we use. initial stages, i struggled by accidental injuries but now, even normal colligues and my customers are amazed at the way i shave clearly without using any mirror. I am late blind too. I practice both traditional method as well as I use a trimmer too. Just make sure you use the right blade which suits your skin as I personally know a few people who developed rashes after shaving. Other things are not something to be worried about. Cheers! Re: [AI] shaving independently
Dear Mohit, I am also a late blind person. I had been shaving on my own from the time I had just enough vision to see what I am doing. At present, I don't even use a mirror as it is of no use to me. Just start doing it on your own. I don't know whether you have ever done it when you had vision. If you have never done it, there will naturally be slight fear as would be the case even with sighted person. I do it in the traditional manner. Let me know if you need any specific guidance.
