Re: [AI] Survey to develop an understanding about how people with vision impairment perceive, experience and interpret Heritage sites
All I too endorse, the survey is very interesting and we can certainly look forward for a more inclusive and richer experience while visiting heritage sites. I had a telephonic call with her while responding to the survey. Her number is present in the signature line. As they say, Rome was not built in a day, similarly it takes time to happen. Data speaks volumes and it can impact good times when gets documented in aPHD thesis. It becomes a solid ground for decision makers to back it. It can also force them to act. Let us take the positive step in participating in good numbers and actually we are helping us in the long run. So you can either fill it in online or go for telephonic survey. Happy new year all of you and let us look for better days ahead. I feel everybody should fill this survey and help Kavita to raise voice for making our Heritage places accessible and end user friendly. I am forwarding this email on behalf of Kavita murugkar. Please go through the message below and fill it. Heritage is regarded as a Universal Cultural resource and many researchers have studied and catalogued the potential benefits of heritage site visits for all. However, social inclusion in heritage sites remains a key challenge specially with respect to people with disabilities. For instance, needs of people with visual impairments are not taken into consideration in heritage conservation and management and they are excluded from experiencing heritage, as it is generally assumed that they may not be able to comprehend the built environment and architecture in a heritage site. Such a viewpoint leads to attitudinal barriers which isolate the people with vision impairment from the remaining world of sighted people. To address this problem, an in-depth study is proposed to develop an understanding about how people with vision impairments experience and interpret heritage sites; understanding the meaning and significance of heritage sites in their lives and how their experiences and needs can be better understood for developing appropriate visitor and heritage management strategies and related policy framework for achieving Social Inclusion in heritage sites. In order to make this investigation possible, I request your kind co-operation to fill out an online survey that can be accessed by clicking the following link: For form in English, go to - https://goo.noclick_gl/forms/XqIVLZekp4oOlicz1 For form in Marathi, go to - https://goo.noclick_gl/forms/5Dt0KCMPmpKL7O8n2 Thank you for your kind cooperation. Re: [AI] Help requested for Pivot Table creation
Hello Mahesh Sir, First of all wish you a very happy new and prosperous new year. Actually Iin my pc so far, I happened to work with Excel 2003 and 2007. I did not face any such difficulty with JAWS. moreover I did not have to change any kind of the default settings for JAWS. Of late when I started Office 2010, I found a number of things which I cannot do with the earlier methods that I used in earlier versions. a few settings (I can't mention accurately) I needed to change in JAWS verbosity setting.(using insert + V option). JAWS 18 is also a bit new for me. would you please guide me about switching on /off of virtual cursor and its functionality in application like excel etc? [AI] New Year gifts from Sugamya Pustakalaya
Dear friends Here are two new books uploaded on Sugamya Pustakalaya. A new year gift to the readers. Three thousand stitches: Ordinary people, extraordinary lives by Sudha Murthy So often, it's the simplest acts of courage that touch the lives of others. Sudha Murty-through the exceptional work of the Infosys Foundation as well as through her own youth, family life and travels-encounters many such stories and she tells them here in her characteristically clear-eyed, warm-hearted way. She talks candidly about the meaningful impact of her work in the devadasi community, her trials and tribulations as the only female student in her engineering college and the unexpected and inspiring consequences of her father's kindness. Unmasking both the beauty and ugliness of human nature, each of the real-life stories in this collection is reflective of a life lived with grace. The girl in room 105 by Chetan Bhagat The story is about Keshav and who broke up four years ago. She moved on in life but Keshav couldn't. HE drank every night to forget her. He called, messaged, and stalked her on social media. She just ignored him. However, that night, on the eve of her birthday, Zara messaged Keshav. She called him over, like old times, to her hostel room 105. He shouldn't have gone, but he did. and his life changed forever. This is not a love story. It is an unlove story. >From the author of Five Point Someone and 2 States, comes a fast-paced, funny and unputdownable thriller about obsessive love and finding purpose in life against the backdrop of contemporary India. Now you can download and read Three thousand stiches by Sudha Murthy and the girl in room 105 by Chetan Bhagat from Sugamya Pustakalaya. Please logon to www.library.daisyindia.org for downloading. Re: [AI] Help requested for Pivot Table creation
Hi Sudeshna, Greetings for the day! I am unaware about the verbosity setting of JAWS in excel. Requesting you to guide me in this so that I can check. Just note, the JAWS vertual setting must be turned off because in my system I have kept it off. In the normal case, as Office package and JAWS are installed in the system, I have worked with Excel 2007, 2010 and 2013 and I did not face any issue with pivot or any other excel tools that I use as yet.
