[AI] Mobility workshop by NAB Delhi

Workshop on Road Safety, Mobility and Useful Apps for the Blind

 

NAB Delhi is conducting a two days workshop on 23 & 24 February 2019 at its
R.K. Puram premises. This project on Road Safety & Mobility is supported by
Goodyear.

 

Date and time: 

23 February 2019 Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM

24 February 2019 Sunday 11 AM to 3 PM.  

Attendance on both days is essential.  

 

Who can attend: Any blind or low vision person above  15 years of age. Must
not be a student or trainee of NAB Delhi at this time. College going
students, job-seekers, working individuals, persons having attained
blindness at a later stage, all are welcome. Copies of Disability
Certificate, a Government issued ICard and a photograph will need to be
provided. Copy of income certificate is also desirable although not
essential.   

 

What will be covered: 

1.  Basic White Cane Mobility Techniques 

2.  Techniques for safe travel on roads 

3.  Techniques for using public transport 

4.  Training to use SmartCane 

5.  Training to use mobile apps useful in mobility and safety 

 

After successful completion of this workshop selected blind girls will be
provided an accessible Android mobile phone free of cost. Selected blind
boys will also be provided useful tools for mobility. NAB Delhi will
distribute the devices on its assessment of the needs of the participants
and its decision will be final. 

 

This workshop is free of cost to attend. Participants will also be provided
lunch during the workshop. Registration is essential. Please call NAB Delhi
