Hello Access Indians,

This is Jayachandran, a 100 per cent visually challenged person working in a
public sector Bank as Scale III officer i.e., Manager at Chennai.

Long back, around 25 years back I did my Rashtrabhasha exam at Dakshin Bharat
Hindi Prachar Sabha. As many of you aware this Rashtrabhasha exam is the third
exam in row of exams conducted by prachar Sabha. Also last year in 2019, I did
my Banking Pragya exam through our Bank. Now I would like to continue my Hindi
studies. I would like to pursue Masters in Hindi. My academic qualifications
are B.A. in English with second language as Tamil in all my academic studies
and CAIIB, which is the exam for professional bankers.

I don’t know how to proceed further.

I am need of the following details:

1. Am I eligible to do directly the PG degree course of Hindi? If yes
which university offers such PG degree in Hindi? Pls note I don’t want to do a
open university course which is considered not as equivalent to regular MA
Hindi which is conducted in distance education mode.
2. What I need to complete rest of the Hindi Prachar sabha exams like
Praveshika, visharadh poorvadh, visharad uthrad, Praveen poorvadh and Praveen
Uthradh and then only I can be allowed to take up PgG degree in Hindi by the
universities or is there some other way?
3. What is the present scribe guidelines for both prachar sabha exams and
degree courses of the universities?
4. What about the accessible reading materials both for Hindi prachar
sabha exams and for MA in Hindi?

Pls throw some light on my above said questions.

Awaiting your reply in this regard.

I am furnishing my mobile no. in the signature of this mails also.

Thanks in advance

[AI] Daily Eyeway Alerts

2020-10-13 Thread Ritu Jain
Dear All,

Please find the below Daily Eyeway Alerts:
1. News-
Noida: NGO helps 100 visually impaired students learn through online classes.
As schools remain closed due to the Covid lockdown, learning has
become a difficult task for students, especially for visually impaired
students. To overcome this problem, a Noida-based NGO is helping more
than 100 visually impaired students continue the learning process
through online classes. The NGO, which works for inclusive education
with assistive technology for the visually impaired students free of
cost, provided mobile phones to 14 students and laptops to six
students. Other students had managed mobile phones on their own.

HC tells DU to declare PG results by month-end
The High Court on Monday directed Delhi University to declare results
of all postgraduate courses by October 31 and to upload the marksheets
on its website.
The court also directed the university to ensure that students are not
required to go to a college to physically collect the marksheets.
The Bench also fixed various deadlines between October 20 and 31 for
declaration of results of undergraduate courses, with a buffer of
maximum three days from the date fixed. It also said that the
marksheets downloaded from the website should not carry any footnote
that it requires physical verification. The marksheets shall be valid
for all purposes, it added.
The court disposed of two pleas by law student Prateek Sharma and
National Federation of Blind seeking to set up effective mechanisms
for visually impaired and specially-abled students so that educational
instructions can be transmitted to them properly and teaching material
is provided to them through online mode of teaching during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the question of law is left open, the Bench said.
The HC had earlier asked the Delhi University and its examiners to
expedite the evaluation process of online open book examination (OBE)
and declare the students’ results preferably by the first week of
October. Source:

Move to repeal National Trust Act draws flak.
Activists fear denial of rights to intellectually challenged persons
The Kerala unit of Parivar, the National Confederation of Parents
Organisations (NCPO), is fighting the Centre’s move to repeal the
National Trust Act tooth and nail, to uphold the privileges enjoyed by
intellectually challenged persons.
“Both our State unit and the 14 district units have already written to
the Prime Minister and the Union Minister for Social Justice and
Empowerment in this regard. We are trying to create awareness among
parliamentarians about the importance of the National Trust Act. If
need be, parents under Parivar will send individual letters to the
authorities concerned,” Sukumaran Mangalassery, national vice
president of Parivar, said.
The National Trust Act was a millennium gift to the intellectually
challenged in 1999 from Maneka Gandhi, then Minister for Social
Justice. Under the Act, the National Trust, an autonomous body, was
formed for the welfare of people with autism, cerebral palsy, mental
retardation, and multiple disabilities. The trust is answerable to the
Ministry, but with independent powers to implement schemes for the
welfare of the intellectually challenged. The schemes include
health-care, insurance, and shelter homes.
The Centre’s move to consolidate the various programmes for the
differently abled comes as an austerity measure. The plan is to
include all disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
(RPWD) Act 2016. “A similar move in 2016 was thwarted when the penal
provisions for the protection of the intellectually challenged under
the National Trust Act were at stake. Now, the whole Act is at stake,”
Mr. Sukumaran said.
Parivar is apprehensive that the intellectually challenged will not
get their dues under the RPWD Act. “These children are helpless,
unlike the hearing impaired or the visually impaired. They cannot
think for themselves and make their voice heard. They need special
attention and hence special laws,” Mr. Sukumaran said, adding that
repealing the National Trust Act was equivalent to the Centre washing
its hands of intellectually challenged persons, who constitute one of
the weakest sections of society.

Dear all,
As some of you might know I was deputed by my organization, Pwc, to
work on aadhar UIDAI in 2011-2012. I was mandated to design and
execute social inclusion strategy for aadhaar enrollment for
marginalize group including person with disability. I worked under
leadership and guidance of Shri Nandan Nilekani and Shri RS Sharma

I moved on and so did people with whom I worked with and sadly UIDAI

My team from pwc is going to make presentation to CEO UIDAI this
Friday second half and I have insisted that ehy should also highlight

highlight with exact uRL link at least 10 problems for their immediate
attention for resolution of the same.
Request you to kindly provide your input by Thursday end of day so I
could compile the same and forward it to my team.
Thanks and let’s collaborate to make India digitally inclusive.
Kind regards
Asif
