Re: [AI] want to learn chess

2020-11-18 Thread anirudh rao
hi Kanchan,
I have searched for the books in Sugamya Pustakalaya which has the
interface that gives the results from bookshare too.
what I am finding is that the books related to general chess and
nothing particular about braille chess or chess for the blind.
another concern is that somehow this mail which I sent is marked as
spam and hence the people who are adept cannot see it may be.

But Harishbhai, the beginning of the original mail has a line "Those
having interest could join:" speaks everything.
and the initiative "Samarth Bharat Manch" is taken by blind people from
all over the country.
this too speaks everything about qualification of the mail reaching AI for
those interested only.
and as far as NPRD's mails are concerned. language in their mail again
speaks everything.
Anyway, I already got 2-3 calls from people after reading this item on AI
showing interest

this too again speaks everything.
Thanks alot.

Samarth Bharat Manch is a new initiative taken up by the visually
impaired (Drushtidivyang) people of Bharat to contribute towards the
cause

of nation building.

Like minded visually impaired people came together from different
parts of Bharat and established Samarth Bharat Manch in 2019.

In December 2019, Samarth Bharat Manch organized a wonderful two days
long
seminar in Nashik on the topic 'Growing role of Hindutva in changing
India'.
It was a unique seminar of its own kind and a new chapter was started
in

this field. A special lecture of Shri Pushpendra Kulsreshtha was also
organized for the general
public of Nashik city, which became a great hit.

This proved that now the visually impaired community of India is also
synchronizing each step and walking shoulder to shoulder with their
non-disabled mates confirming that even with such visual challenges, we
the visually impaired people of Bharat do have our share for the cause
of

Taking this initiative to a further height, Samarth Bharat Manch has
ushered into the field of webinars and after overwhelming success of
its first webinar, it is back with another unique webinar on Thursday,
Nov

19, 2020 .

The city of Delhi kept on burning for many days in February this year
due to the communal riots. The facts and reality of the perpetrators
of these riots and horrifying tales of the same were laboriously
documented by the authors Advocate Maunika Arora, Prof. Dr. Prerna
Malhotra

and Prof. Dr. Sonali Chitalkar in
form of a book. The book has been published by Garuda Prakashan and the
upcoming
webinar will be centred around this book.

The topic of the webinar will be 'Reality of Delhi riots in context of
freedom of expression'
The speakers will be Prof. Dr. Prerna Malhotra, Prof. Dr. Sonali
Chitalkar and Mr. Sankrant Sanu, the founder of Garuda Prakashan.

By organising this webinar on 19th November, on the occasion of birth
anniversary of Laxmi Bai, the queen of Jhansi, we want to salute and
pay our respects to the courage of the three women writers of the
book.
After speaking their part, all speakers would also take up questions
from

the participants.

Hence, Samarth Bharat Manch cordially invites you and your known ones
and appeals with folded hands to be a part of this intellectually
enriching session.

The webinar will take place on Zoom platform, which can be accessed
both from computer and mobile. It'll also be livestreamed on Samarth

All

Can we please have non disability content packaged in any form out of
this list please.

Quite often issues which are non disability in essence but somehow
disability is dragged to the list.

  Namaskaar,

Samarth Bharat Manch is a new initiative taken up by the visually
impaired (Drushtidivyang) people of Bharat to contribute towards the cause
of nation building.

Like minded visually impaired people came together from different
parts of Bharat and established Samarth Bharat Manch in 2019.

In December 2019, Samarth Bharat Manch organized a wonderful two days long
seminar in Nashik on the topic 'Growing role of Hindutva in changing India'.
It was a unique seminar of its own kind and a new chapter was started in
this field. A special lecture of Shri Pushpendra Kulsreshtha was also
organized for the general
public of Nashik city, which became a great hit.

This proved that now the visually impaired community of India is also
synchronizing each step and walking shoulder to shoulder with their
non-disabled mates confirming that even with such visual challenges, we
the visually impaired people of Bharat do have our share for the cause of
nation's building.

Taking this initiative to a further height, Samarth Bharat Manch has
ushered into the field of webinars and after overwhelming success of
its first webinar, it is back with another unique webinar on Thursday, Nov
19, 2020 .

The city of Delhi kept on burning for many days in February this year
due to the communal riots. The facts and reality of the perpetrators
of these riots and horrifying tales of the same were laboriously
documented by the authors Advocate Maunika Arora, Prof. Dr. Prerna Malhotra
and Prof. Dr. Sonali Chitalkar in
form of a book. The book has been published by Garuda Prakashan and the
upcoming
webinar will be centred around this book.

The topic of the webinar will be 'Reality of Delhi riots in context of
freedom of expression'
The speakers will be Prof. Dr. Prerna Malhotra, Prof. Dr. Sonali
Chitalkar and Mr. Sankrant Sanu, the founder of Garuda Prakashan.

By organising this webinar on 19th November, on the occasion of birth
anniversary of Laxmi Bai, the queen of Jhansi, we want to salute and
pay our respects to the courage of the three women writers of the
book.
After speaking their part, all speakers would also take up questions from
the participants.

Hence, Samarth Bharat Manch cordially invites you and your known ones
and appeals with folded hands to be a part of this intellectually
enriching session.

The webinar will take place on Zoom platform, which can be accessed
both from computer and mobile. It'll also be livestreamed on Samarth
Bharat Manch's Youtube Channel.

[AI] RE: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, How Far Have We Actually Come

2020-11-18 Thread Marco Curralejo
Hello Everyone,

Welcome to this week's bonus episode of the Blind Tech Guys.

On this episode, Nimer and Marco sat down with
 Mark Muscat and
 Dr.
Scott Hollier for a chat on accessibility, WCAG, and whether we are moving
in the right direction with making the web and PDF documents truly
accessible.

* Dr. Hollier and Mark introduced themselves, and discussed their
experience in the accessibility field.
* Marco and Nimer took turns asking questions about a number of topics
including:

*   WCAG and its purpose,
* How valuable is WCAG at making sure companies' web presence is
accessible,
* How do individuals receive training in WCAG,
* How do companies locate individuals to hire who are trained in WCAG
and other accessibility best practices,
* And what kind of enforcement exists in the U.S. and Australia which
mandates companies comply with WCAG, as well as what Mark and Dr. Hollier
think works to get companies to comply.

This was certainly an interesting conversation. For instance, did you know
that in many countries, there are no laws to legislate web accessibility?

We want to thank Dr. Scott Hollier and Mr. Mark Muscat for agreeing to
discuss this interesting topic with us and the team appreciates you giving
up your valuable time in order to be a part of this week's bonus show.

To listen, head on over to the Blind Tech Guys website,
where you can easily subscribe in your
favourite podcast player, or you can tune in by asking your smart speaker to
"play the latest episode of Blind Tech Guys Podcast".

Warm regards,

Marco Curralejo
