[AI] EnAble India starting next round of Short duration programs for employees with visual impairment and low vision working in public sector undertaking and state and central government offices

Greetings from EnAble India!
Hope you all are safe and doing great!

EnAble India has come up with more short duration programs for
employees with visual impairment working in public sector undertakings
and other state and central government offices. These programs are
designed by the Inclusion experts who has several years of experience
in this domain and have very good understanding about the job roles
and tasks in the public sector.
Inclusion faculties, who have conducted programs for employees with
visual impairment in different organisations such as SBI, Vijaya Bank,
Oriental Bank of commerce, State government departments such as Rural
development Panchayati Raj, Department of Treasuries etc… are
conducting these programs online.
Programs are designed to develop and enhance skills to perform
specific tasks as part of job role. Based on the job role, you can
choose the program(s)
Programs are of 2 to 4 hours duration and available on Weekends
(Saturday & Sunday) for the convenience of working people.

WEB APPS WITH SCREEN READER
As all offices are getting digitised, work is getting shifted towards
web-based applications, whether it is working on a portal, department
own website or specific application. To perform tasks on applications
designed to work on web (internet/ intranet) it is important to learn
the skill on ‘Working with Web Apps with screen reader’.
This program is for all those who are working in state government
departments as well as public sector undertakings such as banks,
insurance, and others.
Duration :2 sessions (4 hours)
Saturday 27th November, 10:30AM - 12:30 PM, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MASS MAILING USING MAIL MERGE
Reaching out to more customers through different means in short time
is playing crucial role in every business, especially in banking
sector.  As we understand the importance of this task, here we are
with the program focusing on preparing mails to many using ‘Mail
Merge’
This program is specially for those who are working in back office in
banking sector and must send similar letter (correspondence) to many
customer/ branches.

Screen reader is undoubtedly the most powerful tool for any visually
impaired person using computer and any other digital devices. When it
comes to computer NVDA the free and open-source screen reader makes it
easy for everyone to download and use it. Whether it is for personal
use or professional use.
There is a lot NVDA screen reader can do it, but not known to many.
Here is the program ‘Magic of NVDA Screen Reader’ to demonstrate
various hidden features of NVDA which you might be surprised to learn.
By learning these features you can be smarter in doing things which
you were not able to do before or tasks which were taking more time.

PROGRAMS FOR EMPLOYEES WITH LOW VISION –

Documentation in Indian regional languages have become easier using
Google Docs various input Methods. An orientation to these simple and
convenient feature of Google docs is the program.
This program is for teachers and lecturers and other employees in
education department as well as state government departments
especially those who must work with content in regional language.

Bank should give you the account and you should fight for the same.
Nonetheless please do learn to sign. It will make the professional life
much smoother. Please find a better trainer for you. signing is not at all

Pleast take this with CEO/MD of HDFC bank. I had similar issue with
Axis bank in Kolkata. They were not willing to renew my ATM card then
I had approached CEO of Axis bank through email. Trust me my problem
was resolved within 5 working days.

[AI] facing difficulty in account opening at HDFC bank

Dear all  because this is a very serious issue I request you all to
read this email completely,
I am Shahzada Saleem from Ranchi Jharkhand,
Working as accessibility engineer at Devina Technologies PVTLTD.
after joining our company asked me to open a salary account in HDFC for salary,
I went to nearest HDFC bank branch for the account opening process but
with thumb impression they are not ready to provide me other services
except account opening mean’s they will open my account but they are
not going to provide me ATM card and check book,
I asked them for only ATM card because check book I am not going to
use but they are saying that with thumb impression you can not get
anything except account opening.
I had showed them RBI banker guide line and RPD guide line as well.
But they had said that this is not valid for us so we can not do
anything for you,
After this I had visited three more nearest branches but from all
branches I had got all most same responses.
After this I had written to RBI and HDFC,
But unfortunately from all side I did not get any responses I had
twitted HDFC and RBI as well but same thing I did not get any
responses from both twitter handles,
Now I want to request to all of you that please help me for what
should be the next stapes or is there any lawyer so kindly please help
me with any laws regarding this problem.
Or if you have any better solution then kindly please do let me know.

you are just starting with it / Java. If that's the case, I would suggest to 
use Notepad++ for editing and command prompt for compiling to start with. Once 
you are comfortable with Java as a technology, you can explore Eclipse as well.

In Sony Bravia android TV running on android 9, in Accessibility settings one 
could enable the shortcut. Post which Mute button becomes the shortcut, which

I don't know about TCL but most of the TVs have shortcut back+ down arrow for 
three seconds to turn on and turn off the Talkback.

Dear listers,
I've got an Android Smart TV from  TCL. It has TalkBack installed, and once it 
is turned, the TV is reasonably accessible. However, the difficulty is that 
there is no independent way to turn TalkBack on. No shortcuts. Couldn't find 
any option to enable accessibility shortcut.
The combination of volume up and down keys not working either. So each time, 
one would need sighted help to turn TalkBack on to actually access the TV.
Any solutions? Any way to activate TalkBack through some shortcut on the 
remote? Can  Google Assistant be configured to activate TalkBack on voice 
command?
Anyone have experience of using a TCL Android SmartTV with TalkBack?
