 JAWS latest version: 2023 (Public Beta)

Freedom Scientific is pleased to announce that version 2023 of JAWS is now
available for download.

 New Features Added in JAWS 2023

1. Notification History Improvements:
We can manage the large amount of notifications that can be received from
Windows and applications on a daily basis. When we press INSERT+SPACEBAR,
followed by N, a dialog box opens and displays a history of all
notifications received in the last 24 hours while JAWS was running. From
this dialog box, you can choose to exclude selected notifications from
appearing in the history in the future, as well as create rules specifying
how future notifications should be spoken.

2. Solution for Dell Waves Max Audio Issues:
A change to the Eloquence, Vocalizer Expressive, and Microsoft Mobile
speech synthesizers for JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion was made that fixes the
increased memory usage problem caused by the Waves Max audio application
often used on Dell computers.

3. In Edge and Chrome, resolved an issue where JAWS was not properly
reading table headers defined by using the "ID" and "header" attributes.
JAWS also now properly reads the "axis" attribute. You can find examples of
these types of tables on our Surf's Up training pages.

[AI] inaccessibility of swiggy

Hi all,

As the subject line suggests that, I have been facing very strange issue
since 3-4 days in swiggy's android application.

Many a times "apply promo code" option does not read by talkback, however
option is there and it can be used without talkback.

What I have identified is that, option does not read by talkback when promo
code like SWIGGYIT which can be used by everyone regardless of the
transaction type is available to use.

I want to kno if I am only facing this issue or everyone is facing the same.

Hi Mohib,
Option is available. Please do the following
Open blank word file then press alt+f then press t then press down
arrow key till you hear proof reading then keep pressing tab key till
you hear check spelling as you type checkbox check press space key and
uncheck again press tab key till you hear check grammar checkbox check
press space key to uncheck again keep pressing tab key till you hear
ok button and press space key to activate.

Hi all! I have upgraded my iPhone 11 into iOS 16, since then incoming calls 
aren’t ringing the bell. When any call arrives, my device only vibrates and 
doesn’t ring incoming call tune. How can I set my device to ring the tune for 
incoming calls? i’d check the settings and sounds and vibrations, but the 
incoming call tune already set as I set that tune previously, no settings has 
changed after upgradation. please guide me through the same. Thanks.

Hello Minar, i have done successfully in jaws setting center, however
in MS Word 2019, this option is not coming. As when i click on
proofing and grammar and spelling, it starts checking the  grammar and
doesn't give me any option to toggle anything.

Hi friends, I am using MS Word 2019 with jaws 2022 in my Lenovo
thinkpad running on windows 11. Whenever I am in MS Word document,
jaws speaks 'spelling error' out of spelling error on wrongly written
word. I want to stop it as many words are written as name etc. kindly
help me.

with windows used by this group

I am keenly interested in working / joining them as an Accessibility user
tester.
Have been using Jaws since 2004. Current version under use is Jaws 2022.
If you have any references / know people who hire testers, pls let me know.
Would be grateful for the same.

I have tried with Clear Tax, the kyc is pending... When doing it on
the app, it was asking to sign on the phone, and the thumb impression
was not being captured properly. So I then uploaded the image through
the web interface. Have to wait and see.
In the mean time, I spoke to PNB, their mutual fund partner executive
was called into the branch, and on checking with his senior executive,
he told me that I have to fill the physical form in the presence of a
notary and varify the thumb impression by the notary.
