Wherever possible She should be permitted to make use of
laptop/desktop for making progress report or keeping attendance
records. She can use MS word for creating progress report and MS Excel
for maintaning attendance records. Institution can assign someone for
her during paper evaluation process. She can initiate a legal battle
like complaining to CCPD but This will take time. You have not
mentioned from which state she belongs to.

Secretarial assistance should be provided as and reasonable accommodation. This
will ensure level playing ground and guarantee equal opportunity to perform. As
anybody else. This would be my suggestion rather than exemptions as We Are
capable of doing all by removing barriers. Thank you

hi Rahul,
in my opinion, it is better to think before about correcting the
certificate as to what purpose it serves if you go for a correction.
because, the formalities getting the certificate and correcting is a
process that may bring headaches.

Re: [AI] Certification of quantum of blindness

2022-10-11 Thread anirudh rao
hi Rahul,
in my opinion, it is better to think before about correcting the
certificate as to what purpose it serves if you go for a correction.
because, the formalities getting the certificate and correcting is a
process that may bring headaches.

Hi Rahul
In my opinion you should go for a fresh certification as you are able
to see and recognize things with your little perception it is better
to get it diagnosed and get an accurate disability percentage

They are asking her to do such things such as paper evaluation,
attendance maintenance in register, writing progress reports, and
other official paper works as well.
She is 100% blind so these things are not doable for her,
She had requested many time to allow her for paper less work but
administrator of college and the principle are not allowing her,
They are asking her to higher an assistant for these work on herself.
After many requests now they are saying that if you are not capable to
do such things so leave the job immediately else they will complain
against her about these in education department.
They had put her salary on hold from last one and half month.
Requesting you all that is there any solution for this?
Is there anyway to evaluate the exam’s paper for any visually impaired person?
How can any visually impaired Maintain the attendance register?

[AI] Certification of quantum of blindness

2022-10-11 Thread Mission Accessibility
Hi everyone,

Good morning. Apologies for sending this through the mission accessibility ID.
This is Rahul. That is because I have unsubscribe to the group from my personal
ID, due to the volume of males.

I would like your guidance on one aspect. My disability certificate shows my
blindness as being 100%. I have light perception, can recognize shapes and
forms in close proximity and can also recognize sharp colors when the lighting
is good. I am able to read, with effort, large font on the computer, around
80-100 font size. And I’m able to see the time on my clock which has very large
digits. So I don’t think that my blindness is 100%. My visual acuity is 2.5 by
60 in one eye, and 3 by 60 in the other eye.

A few years ago, I had wanted to get the quantum of my blindness corrected. My
recollection of that process, as traumatic as it was, was that I was told that
given that the amount of vision that I have is very low, 3 by 60 or less, that
will be considered as 100% blindness. Is this accurate? Or should I obtain a
fresh certification that captures the accurate quantum of my blindness?

Warmly,
Rahul

[AI] Need a list of JAWS/NVDA compatible tools

2022-10-11 Thread A.J
Hi,

I would like to know which all tools/softwares pertaining to Data Analysis,
Business Intelligence, Databases, Cloud and Project Management are
compatible with JAWS/NVDA.

Being late blind few months back i have no idea which all tools/software
are compatible. Hence it will be helpful if i can get a curated list of
compatible tools.

P.S: I was working as a Data Analyst prior to my visual impairment. So i
need to stick to data related field itself.

Looking forward for some positive responses.

Thank you,
Ajinkya
