Subject: [AI] Seeking advice from AccessIndian members on securing a teaching
job as a visually impaired person

Dear AccessIndian members,
I am writing to seek your advice and guidance on how I can successfully secure
a teaching job as a visually impaired person. I am currently a Masters of
English student in the final year of my exams and am actively looking for job
opportunities in private schools and coaching classes that provide English
classes and IELTS coaching.
Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to secure a teaching job yet. I
have tried portals like Indeed, ""Naukri.com." and LinkedIn, but have been
unsuccessful in convincing employers to hire me. or some times they did not
reply. I have attended two or three interviews, but the responses I received
were not encouraging. The majority of employers either stated that they do not
want to hire me or that they prefer an experienced person over a fresher like
me.
As a visually impaired person, I understand that I may face additional
challenges in securing a teaching job. However, I am confident in my abilities
and believe that I can make a positive impact in any teaching position that I
hold. Therefore, I am seeking your advice on how I can convince potential
employers to hire me and how I can create a positive impression during
interviews.
I would be grateful if you could provide me with some tips and advice on how to
approach this situation. I am open to learning from your experiences and would
appreciate any guidance that you can provide in advance.
Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I look forward to hearing back
from you.
Sincerely,
[Meet Modi]

Subject: Re: [AI] Need help in MS excel

Sure, I can help with these Excel issues you are experiencing.

For filtering the data, Excel may not announce that a field has a drop-down
list when you navigate to the column. However, you can still access the
drop-down list by pressing Alt+Down arrow key once you are in the column. This
should open the filter drop-down list and allow you to filter the data as
needed.

To use the "TRUE or FALSE" formula in Excel, you can follow these steps:

Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
Type the equals sign (=) to start entering the formula.
Type "TRUE" or "FALSE" (without the quotes) to enter the desired value.
Press Enter to confirm the formula and complete the entry.
When you move left or right to select the cell, NVDA may not announce the
cell's content or position. To verify the selected column, you can try to
navigate to the column's header or press the arrow keys to move to the next or
previous cell to confirm the selection. rather you may mention the cell
address whichever is required.

To filter on a column with dates in Excel, follow these steps:
Select the column containing the dates you want to filter.
Press Alt+H then F then S then F to open the filter dialog box.
In the filter dialog box, select the drop-down list for the column containing
dates and choose the date filtering option you want to use.
Select the date range or specific dates you want to filter.
Press Alt+A to apply the filter and close the dialog box.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

[AI] BCA and BBA graduates

2023-04-06 Thread Saurav Hegde
Hi access Indians,
As a 12th pass out, I am figuring out what to pursue.
I am a commerce student.
I am also considering BCA and BBA as career options.
I need some prospective on these courses.
Are BCA or BBA graduates on this list. Please do reach out or if anyone
knows someone who is.
I need a prospective on curriculum, colleges and most importantly job
opportunities.
How good are job opportunities after either of the programmes in terms of
placements, especially on-campus placements.
I am from Pune, so if anyone has completed either of the courses from a
college in Pune and can share their experience, it would be even more
helpful.
However, a general prospective would also be valuable.

regards
Saurav

RE: [AI] Chat-gpt response on a query how to make a blind person understand the concept of colours

2023-04-06 Thread ilovecold
The best analogy I know was you can compare 7 colours to 7 music notes. As
these notes produce different sounds, in the same way colours produce different
visuals/images/pictures whatever way you interpret them.

Re: [AI] Regarding getting mails from Google group in particular Gmail folder

2023-04-06 Thread Vikas Kapoor
Hello,
What specific phrase you are putting in the subject lines? I have
defined [AI] which is the signature phrase of the mails from
AccessIndia. Also, you need to be very specific while defining the
from field. AccessIndia mails usually land from
accessindia@accessindia.org.in. If you define these two fields
correctly, I think you should be good to go.

Re: [AI] Chat-gpt response on a query how to make a blind person understand the concept of colours

2023-04-06 Thread Yamuna Jivana dasa (Yogan)
Harish Bhai!

No way! I cannot believe it! Are you sure you did not write that excellent poem
yourself?
This effort requires appreciation of human emotion such as “love” and “hope”.
Something not conscious in the way we are, cannot use those concepts in such
creatively and knowing ways. You have to actually realize these feelings to do
that, not so?
I mean, in the same way that a blind person from birth cannot properly express
the subtleties of colours in a poem until they are directly given associations
with other sensory experiences to compare? And since a non-living entity does
not have any sensory and what to speak of emotional experience (realization),
then how can it do what you just described, is completely frightening.
Does it now experience human consciousness?
If so that would destroy the very foundation of my faith: that God is the only
designer of consciousness.
Surely it cannot be consciously experiencing anything, to do what it does?
Please say how then can it do this otherwise!
For now I’m shocked so severely that my emotions are affected and my breathing
has actually become shallow on reading this poem, as if someone has just nocked
the wind out of my stomach.

I suppose it would have found very little in terms of learning from earlier
responses as there would have been very little to fall back on a topic like
this which as a topic is difficult to catch in the first place.

Hold on for a moment and think what you would have come up with this topic.

now compare with its response:

Here are the lines with Chat GPT has penned. I have already done a google
search and plagiarism check.
Sure, here's a poem that celebrates emptiness:

Emptiness, a blank canvas, unadorned
A space for growth, a chance to be reborn
A void to fill, a space to create
A world of possibility, it's ours to make

It's not a emptiness of loss or lack
But one of hope, a second chance at back
A space to breathe, to start anew
A chance to see what you can do

Emptiness, a space for the soul
A place to grow, to find a goal
A journey ahead, with endless dreams
A world of hope, or so it seems

So let us embrace this emptiness with pride
And fill it with love, from deep inside
A new beginning, a chance to thrive
Emptiness, a gift for which to strive.

Re: [AI] Need help in MS excel

2023-04-06 Thread Khandu Bhandare
Sure, I can help with these Excel issues you are experiencing.

For filtering the data, Excel may not announce that a field has a
drop-down list when you navigate to the column. However, you can still
access the drop-down list by pressing Alt+Down arrow key once you are
in the column. This should open the filter drop-down list and allow
you to filter the data as needed.

When you move left or right to select the cell, NVDA may not announce
the cell's content or position. To verify the selected column, you can
try to navigate to the column's header or press the arrow keys to move
to the next or previous cell to confirm the selection. rather you may
mention the cell address whichever is required.

To filter on a column with dates in Excel, follow these steps:
Select the column containing the dates you want to filter.
Press Alt+H then F then S then F to open the filter dialog box.
In the filter dialog box, select the drop-down list for the column
containing dates and choose the date filtering option you want to use.
Select the date range or specific dates you want to filter.
Press Alt+A to apply the filter and close the dialog box.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

person understand the concept of colours

Hi

An interesting response to the captioned query:

Understanding the concept of colors for a person who is blind from
birth or has severe visual impairments can be challenging. However,
there are several ways in which a blind person can comprehend colors:

1.
Associating colors with other sensory experiences: Colors can be
associated with sounds, tastes, textures, and smells. For example, red
can be associated with the taste of spicy food or the sound of a trumpet.

2.
Learning color names through verbal description: A sighted person can
describe colors to a blind person using words such as "red is warm
like fire" or "blue is cool like water."

3.
Touch-based systems: There are various touch-based systems, such as
raised line drawings, tactile graphics, and Braille labels, that can
help a blind person understand colors. These systems use different
textures or shapes to represent different colors.

4.
Technology: With the advancement of technology, there are now devices
such as color recognition apps, which can help a blind person identify
colors. These apps use a smartphone camera to detect and identify
colors and announce them through audio output.
Overall, understanding colors for a blind person may require
creativity, patience, and an openness to different ways of
experiencing the world.

Re: [AI] Regarding getting mails from Google group in particular Gmail folder

2023-04-06 Thread Vikas Kapoor
Go the settings page and choose Labels and create a new label by any
name of your choice. Once the label has been created, go the filter
options and create a new filter, in which you can define the rules,
such as, the mails arrive from a particular id, a particular phrase in
the subject line etc. And be sure to tick the box that says "skip
Inbox" so that those mails don't land in your inbox.
