[AI] Do we get loans from HDFC Bank?

2023-06-08 Thread Kakarla Nageswaraiah
Dear all,

Nowadays, I am getting calls from HDFC representatives offering
personal loans but when I say I am blind, they express regret saying
that they don't offer loans to the blind customers.

I think the calls would continue unless I take a loan from the Bank.

So I want to know whether any of you had taken loan from the HDFC
Bank. If yes, have you followed any additional procedure for that?
Also, is there any policy document from the Bank on offering their
services to the visually impaired customers?

Thanks and regards.

Re: [AI] Ola asked to make pick-up and drop location selection, driver information accessible within 4 weeks

2023-06-08 Thread harish kotian

Hi Amar

Although I do resonate with your point of view, business, sales,
revenue, funding are independent of technology issues most of the times.
At the core of it, accessibility issues spring from design
considerations and it requires to be directed. All the other factors are
not dependent. All these are technology driven companies and therefore
this should be least of their problems. It requires, just some hand
holding and willingness. In conclusion, I am of the opinion you should
not lax in your efforts.

Harish.

Rapido at this moment is struggling to keep its business up and running as more
and more states are becoming a legal hurdle for them to operate. Prominent
states like Maharashtra, Delhi etc in terms of revenue has become a problem for
them.

The other side of the story is that these loss making businesses manage to find
investors for them who are willing to write a cheque. So should we be putting
our efforts is a question I am struggling to answer for myself.

Sir, AI bots like Chat GPT can just provide you answers to some
queries based on the data fed into their systems.
They can't invent or suggest a new treatment that is not known to the doctors.

[AI] Invitation for consultation: Inclusive societies for women with disabilities June 22 Mumbai

2023-06-08 Thread nidhigoyal219
Dear friends,

Greetings from
Disability, Equity, Justice Working Group Civil 20 India!

We are writing to invite you to a consultation on 'Women with Disabilities'
which we are organising in Mumbai on June 22, 2023, from 2 PM to 5 PM IST.
It is being organised as part of the Disability Equity Justice working
group's efforts under Civil 20 India by Rising Flame, US Consulate Mumbai,
and Mariwala Health Initiative.

Civil 20 is the official Engagement group of G20 and provides a platform for
civil society organisations to bring their concerns and recommendations to
the policy makers. Disability Equity Justice is one of the 15 working
groups of the Civil 20 and is led by Rising Flame's founder and Executive
Director, Ms Nidhi Ashok Goyal.

The theme for the policy consultation is 'Inclusive Societies for Women
with Disabilities'. Women are estimated to account for up to three-quarters
of people with disabilities in low and middle-income nations. Women and
girls with disabilities often experience multiple and intersecting forms of
discrimination, low access to resources and opportunities, and face
disproportionately high barriers in their everyday lives. This consultation
will create a platform to make recommendations for fostering participation
and inclusion of women with disabilities in communities, to unpack the
structural and societal violence faced by women and girls with disabilities
and discuss on enhancing access to learning and growth opportunities.

Date: June 22, 2023

Time: 2pm to 5 pm

Location: Bandra East, Mumbai (no online)

Please fill the form below to attend in person.

  https://bit.ly/InclusiveC20_WWD

Once you register you will receive a confirmation email with more details of
the venue and agenda.
