2023-08-01 Thread Minar Singh
The lease was for 11 months. It is already expired but landowner did
not consider of renewing it. In West Bengal, these things do not
matter much after 3-5 years landowner will make some excuse and ask
the tenant to vacate the house. I have no issue in relocating into
another house, but my organisation is still working in hybrid mode
like 2 days work from office and 3 days from home. Accessing internet
using mobile hotspot or dongle is not the feasible option. Having
static IP is the strict requirement from the client side so I had
spent more than five thousand for getting static IP. I will have to
ensure that infrastructure is already prepared before I shift in to
the another. Resetting infrastructure will cost extra money. I am
going through the future leadership training where attendance is
mandatory.

I have heard about the paper spray but do not know exactly how it
works and from where to get it? I will be thankful to you if you can

Hi,
Very good initiative but I have a suggestion to you and everyone
involved in developing technologies for the VI community.
Along with these braille devices, serious advancements need to be made
in the mobility space as I believe that mobility is one of the biggest
challenges for a VI person.
Mobility is just not being able to walk on the road, it includes
inhouse and in campus mobility. It is quite frustrating to need
someone's help in moving in a house just because it is new and unfamiliar.
You constantly have to plan your next move in order to prevent hurting
yourself or crashing into someone which could hurt them or create
awkward movements.
The blind cane is a great tool, I use it almost every day, but it has
started to become outdated for the 21st century.

It cannot be used everywhere and with ease.
Feel free to reply if you agree or disagree.
Warm regards,

Re: [AI] Airtel Thanks App Accessibility or alternative

2023-08-01 Thread Bharat
The Airtel's app is totally inaccessible. Unless you are using a
Airtel Black, you can make your payments using any of the 3rd party
websites like

Amazon.in
& many more.

The only challenge is with an Airtel black connection, since the
payments for those can only be made using airtel's app. In which case
the option is to take some sighted assistance.

[AI] Airtel Thanks App Accessibility or alternative

2023-08-01 Thread Yamuna Jivana Dasa (Yogan Khandoo)
Hi friends,

Anybody here using Airtel Fibre?
The Airtel Thanks App is inaccessible to Talkback. How do you make payments for
services such as your monthly Fibre premiums without sighted help?
I tried using the website airtel.in but functionality seems to be limited and
they are using the web interface more to push users to performing these
functions from the App.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Subject: Re: [AI] Developing devices with and for the Visually Impaired

Hi,
Very good initiative but I have a suggestion to you and everyone involved in
developing technologies for the VI community.
Along with these braille devices, serious advancements need to be made in the
mobility space as I believe that mobility is one of the biggest challenges for
a VI person.
Mobility is just not being able to walk on the road, it includes inhouse and in
campus mobility. It is quite frustrating to need someone's help in moving in a
house just because it is new and unfamiliar.
You constantly have to plan your next move in order to prevent hurting yourself
or crashing into someone which could hurt them or create awkward movements.
The blind cane is a great tool, I use it almost every day, but it has started
to become outdated for the 21st century.
It cannot be used everywhere and with ease.
Feel free to reply if you agree or disagree.

Warm regards,
Saurav Hegde

[AI] Disability affairs in contemporary India

2023-08-01 Thread avinash shahi
Hi all
I wish to air my views and concerns with regard to disability advocacy
in the country of late. we've had very disturbing times in the recent
past. Covid crises, job losses, wage stagnation, slow progress in
access India campaign and to ttop all this, no appointment at the post
of CCPD. firebrand NGOs whether in the service sector or in the
advocacy sphere have been treading cautiously thanks to FCRA concern
and other crack down fears on their donation sources. What I've
expressed above is just a tip of the iceberg. the situation is more
grave in the 29 states and union terrotories in the countryside. The
common disabled folks are very tensed and mental stress is taking
toll. Those of us who are in the government sector or Central banking
are fortunate and lucky one I guess. The media be it electronic or
traditional print media also give less coverage to our concerns.
senior leaders/activists of disability sector either have grown old or
struggling with health issues. What to do then, how to rekindle the
passion and zeal to take on challenges for common cause? altruism is
relegated to survival of the fittest.

Hi

Sorry for late reply. As i had already said that, I had lodged the complain in
the nearest police station "Anandpur" police station.
Police could identify oneof the suspects who was involved in several robbery
cases. I hope He will be caught and others too. I will keep follow up on this.
Kanchan mam, I shall proceed with your suggestion. I can understand Bengali
fairly. I can speak not so fluently but I can manage to express myself. I have
a friend who works with me in office. She is willing to help me on letter
writing part. I’m going through a lot right now. It has been very stressful
life.

2023-08-01 Thread Ram

Hi,

Ask your neighbours whether the gang visited their houses too to collect
donations or they targeted you only.
If it is the later case, then I can tell u for granted it is somelocal
goondas who know u r a VI and that u have a well paid job. They considered u
an easy target.
