I have got my account in Citi bank and they have never rejected my cheques as
they have given a remark with my name and account in their data base.
Although, the verification happens in the backend, the team working on this
task of verification also have the appropriate data about the customer. Yes,
they always call me before clearing my cheques.
I have tried to use HDFC but failed as they rejected my cheques everytime.
Hence, closed my account with them for their bad service.

Hi Aruni

Yes, RBI has issued this instructions, however, the ground reality is
different. In the good old days, it was the branch banking era, signature
verification was done in the branches. They were aware of their blind customers
and would do the suitable accomodations. However, it is no more branch banking
and this process is done at the back end and there is total disconnect with the
officials and the customers. As a result there is increased incidents of
cheques getting returned because of signature mismatch.

Those using thumb impression, the problem gets enhanced because, it is not
possible by most to verify it on the computer monitor.
The effective solution was to have the computer to do that task. Earlier, TCS
had done some significant work on it. I understand, they have shelved the
project as the present advances in alternative methods like ePayment is more
effective than the paper based instruments.

I am aware, many would frown at this, butthis is the stark reality. It is
necessary to keep in pace with changing times. Internal processes do differ
from one bank to another. In the interim, if you can find such contacts as
Sweety has suggested, you can take it up. In the long run of course, you need
to take measure to change.

Hi, Rbi has instructed banks to facilitate the use of all services including
cheque facility. But the convenient argument from the bank side is that they do
not have any LTI verification method. Though I convinced my bank to issue a
cheque book,, they have told me that my cheques will only be entertained if
the signatures match exactly, which is not the case 99% of times. This has
effectively barred me from using cheques for banking transactions.

2017-10-17 Thread नूपुर जैन
Hi All,

I read this book too.
I found it interesting, well written with short sentences and vividness. The
beautiful discriptions made this book even more engaging for a reader. Above
all, it has spoken about respect for a woman and her feeling very openly which
needs to be recognized and accepted in indian culture.

Yes, the story is no different but the way it has written is worth
appreciating. The vocabulary used and and use of words appropriately added to
the awesomeness of the book. The sequencing of seens is subtly arranged which
motivated me to read it cover to cover in a go.

Dear Nupur Ma'am
Today I personally talk to my NET Center coordinator, she said you have to
bring your own scribe and the scribe should be one class below. As far as
guidelines are concerned it is mentioned that scribe should not be graduate in
the same subject of candidate. If the candidate is unable to arrange his own
scribe then he has to inform the center one week in advance so that they can
make adequate arrangement. We will be provided compensatory time of 25Mins for
paper
1 and paper 2 and 50Mins for paper 3. But my center said that our
responsibility is only to conduct exam and arranging scribe is candidate's
headache. Apart from that they said for further details get in touch with CBSE.

Subject: Opportunities for OYO, Kolkata

Dear Nupur di,

Pleasure catching up with you after so long! I write to you to seek your help
to reach out the larger talented community of differently abled friends who may
be interested in applying for opportunities with OYO. You would be aware that
OYO is one of the fastest growing startups and has already established itself
as the largest Hotel Chain in India. I have recently joined OYO as the Regional
HR Head for East Zone and I am looking forward to build my team here. We have
couple of opportunities in the Talent Acquisition team for candidates who would
be interested in headhunting candidates for suitable roles and bringing them
onboard. Look forward to profiles who are suitably equipped to handle emails,
phone calls and internet using JAWS or any other mechanism suitable to them.
The role will be based out of Kolkata. Please request them to send out their
profile to Partha Sarathy Roy, Talent Acquisition Head at
partha@oyorooms.com<mailto:partha@oyorooms.com> Thanks a ton for your
help!

Regards,

Snigdha Singh

Re: [AI] Voting experience yesterday

2019-04-15 Thread नूपुर जैन
Hi All,

I along with my husband who is also VI practiced our right to vote at Noida.
The experience was smooth accept for, we had to ask for the list of candidates
in braille.
We waited for few minutes but they could not find it. However, it came after we
had already voted. Therefore, we suggested them to keep that braille list ready
in case required for the day.
One of them also gave me the orientation of the EVM with the code matching the
symbol.

With best regards,

Nupur

Subject: [AI] Voting experience yesterday

Friends
Yesterday, I along with my elder brother who is also blind, went to cast our
valuable vote with my wife accompanying us.

To begin with, the clerk at booth greeted us with affront question to my wife,
“Can they cast vote or you will caste instead?
However, before I could recover from this momentous attack on our ability and
direct substitutive approach taken by the representative of the biggest
democracy, the booth-in-charge walked upto us and handled the situation himself.
From Then onwards, it was smooth process with braille list and braille
labelling on the EVM.
However, no attempts were made to counsel the concerned clerk, at least not in
our presence.
