Re: [AI] Snehankit Helpline - Report on the 2 day seminar organised by Snehankit Helpline on the New Education Policy (NEP 2020)

2024-10-10 Thread Shyam Sayanekar
Hello Sameer, went through the entire report. Good effort. But the
surprising facts are that there were no participants from the schools like
the Victoria Memorial school, the Happy home for the Blind, and Pragati
Andha Vidyalaya Badlapur. The Konkan region seams to be completely abcent.
In fact, I was the first member to initiate a discussion on this important
topic. But I did not receive much response. Further, the blind persons, who
have spent their entire life in the field of education should have been
invited or at least should have been informed about it. I have worked on
the education committee of NAB for eight years. Ms. Kalpana Kharade is
another name. Any way, I congratulate the Snehankit teem for their valuable
achievement.

Hello Yamuna, I appreciate your frank and genuine views expressed in this
mail. I fully agree with your views. I myself never use spoon and such
other things except while eating things like icecream. I have visited about
nine countries, but I did not make any changes in my eating just because I

Re: [AI] Why too many barriers for people with disabilities?

2024-07-13 Thread Shyam Sayanekar
Hello, I fully agree with the views expressed by our scholars in this mail.
So far as I am concerned, I do not take any concession given by the
Government to the blind. I do not claim diduction under section 80 U, or
rail way or bus concessions. I have not even applied for the combersum
disability card. Of course, this may differ from person to person.

Re: [AI] Sharing link of an interview of singer Mayuri Atre

2024-06-21 Thread Shyam Sayanekar
Hello Vedika, I fully heard the interview of Mayuri held by you.
Congratulations to both of you. I had also heard Mayuri in both her reality
shows. But the interview appeared to be rather short and incomplete. It
should have been more extensive. Now a days electronic Tanpura and music
tracs are easily available. you should have used those to enhance the
effect of her song. You should have asked her about her schooling, whether
she knows braille, whether she uses computer and how it helps her in her
career, her experience with her music teacher, what are her future plans,
etc. Anyway, the interview was good and I liked it. Please inform Mayuri as
well about my response.

[AI] A Sad News

2024-02-29 Thread Shyam Sayanekar
Dear members, I feel extremely sorry to inform you that Mrs. Swaran Tai
Ahuja passed away at Rajastan. She was renowned as an encyclopidea of the
blind. She was a dedicated teacher, having several innovative ideas. She
played a vital role in shaping the Dadar School for the Blind. She was my
beloved teacher and taught me when I was in the fourth standard. She also
had a lion's share in shaping the Teachers' Training course for the Blind.
She was awarded the Rustoom Alpaiwala prize. Very few sighted people know
braille to the level of Mrs. Ahuja. She was a personification of a loving
teacher. Modesty was her other name. No need to say that she will reach the
havon.

Re: [AI] Should I pay a delivery charge for the Indane Gas LPG

2023-12-11 Thread Shyam Sayanekar
No, no, never. Whenever you book a gas, you are informed about the exact
amount to be payed. It is their usual habit to ask for extra money and
bonus for various festivals. You must never pay any such extra money. In a
way you are encouraging corruption. The delivery boys are not doing you any
favour. They are paid for their job. It is as simple as this.

Dear members, I am here with opening a new topic for discussion. Many
of the VI students study law and pass the LL.B or even LL.M.
examinations with flying colours. But I am feeling curious so as to
how many of them actually take to legal practice. And if they do so,
what difficulties they face? How far they have to depend upon sighted
persons? How far the bear acts, court verdicts, case law, books and
other material is available in accessible format? what is the attitude
of the sighted clients towards the Blind advocate? Please provide as
much detailed information as possible..
