Perhaps so. The glass I am using works the same way. It is, however, quite large and heavy, fit for the sahibs.

Dear Amiyo
Both use primarily the same technology. Ultrasonic obstacle detection based on SONAR.

I think, the same device will be more useful if it comes in the form of a sunglass. Sometimes it is difficult to maintain a straight direction. We have to move the cane around. A sunglass will always keep us facing front. Actually I have an RniB glass with vibration. The same glass may be developed by the smart cane company.

yes, it is working. but, it only works for those who already have a
basic mobility skills, can walk alone with the help of basic white
cane or folding stick. it is not a replacement of stick, instead it
works like an add on.

Hello all,

But, everytime only the information about its guidance to walk is
being given. But, the question is that, what about its usage in
traffic? It shows that, it saves the route and guides the way. but,
what about traffic and obstacles? How it guides to avoid them?
Please write to us if anyone is using this or if anyone has seen it

hello friends. today i came across a wonderful invention, please
do read, give your views, and share with your friends. i dont know
how much it will be useful keeping in regard the indian
infrastructure.

Created keeping visually impaired people in mind, LECHAL (meaning
'take me there' in Hindi) is an interactive haptic footwear that
can be used in more ways than one. Primarily, it uses bluetooth to
connect to a smartphone (iOS, Android, Windows) and sends users
haptic feedback to guide them to their destination. In simple
words, if you want to travel from your house to a nearby theatre,
the footwear will guide you to it by providing vibrations. If you
need to turn right, the right side of the footwear will vibrate.
It can also double up as a lifestyle product that tracks the
number of steps you take, the number of calories you burn and even
lets you set fitness goals. If that wasn't enough, you can share
routes with your friends who too are using the shoe. All of this
for a price of $100.

more about how LECHAL works.

The shoe has been designed by Krispian Lawrence and Anirudh
Sharma, founders of Ducere Technologies and philanthropists who
want to change the world and India in a positive way. According
Krispian Lawrence, 'Every time you buy a pair of Special Edition
footwear, one pair of LECHAL footwear will be subsidized for a
visually challenged person, through Institutes like the world
renowned L V Prasad Eye Institute, based in Hyderabad'.
When
you buy LECHAL, you'll get a pair of footwear (insoles or shoes),
a Charger, an Application which can be downloaded on an smartphone
(Android/IOS/Windows compatible).

kriti banga.
