oh! i am using dell's net book for about 3 years without any major issues. it works well with jaws & kes, it also good to perform utilities like multimedia, scanning, & printing. it is good at net browsing. this devise has excellent bbattery backup for 5,6 hours. i think netbook is verymuch suited to academic purpose, but may not suited to perform some heavy tasks with atom processor. this is my personal experience. . I suggest getting the latest processor, i'm having a hard time with atalon processor, because when microsoft opens jaws reads to slow because the system gets busy, when i use microsoft word in Samsung. But i still believe its the processor problem and not the company. So while buying make sure you have the latest processor. which ever company it is. still would suggest, samsung, HP, del.
