[AI] Accessible Cooking Appliances

2021-11-11 Thread sachin patel
Dear All,

Do we have any Wi-Fi or Bluetooth enabled smart instant pots, or any
such Accessible cooking appliances available in India, or any way to
order them from abroad? Cursory search on amazonIndia and Google did
not produce encouraging results. I am specifically looking to operate
them using iPhone, so, corresponding app would also have to be
accessible on IOS.

Thanks for the help
Sachin Patel

What are you looking to cook? What kind of accessibility are you
aiming for? The devices those run on electricity could have the
possibility to be accessible, and microwave ovan could be such a
device. I have one electric rice cooker and egg boiler separetly both
are quite easy to use hence accessible too.

RE: [AI] Accessible Cooking Appliances

2021-11-12 Thread pranav.lal
Hi Sachin,

Search for smart appliance or Alexa controlled appliances. These are few and
far between. I doubt you will get an instant pot here because we still use our
venerable pressure cookers. Having said the above, keep looking and sometimes,
you need to read between the lines. See the below oven toaster griller I found.
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07RTJY15J/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFMQVBOSlhFUVIwOFomZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA2OTczMDU2NU9DTlNTU09QMEUmZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDQ5NTA1NjNLS1JKNjFDR0ZFU0Qmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWwyJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

The operative phrase on the above page is a mechanical timer which means, you
may be able to operate it with a regular knob.

Usually, if there is a mechanical timer, the thermostat should also be
mechanical.

Also look at some of the induction cookers. They have multiple buttons.

The place where you are going to have a problem is microwave ovens. I am not
sure if you will get smart ones here.
See this review. It is dated which is why I am uncertain if you will still get
the device. The device is Alexa controlled.

Re: [AI] Accessible Cooking Appliances

2021-11-14 Thread sachin patel
Thanks for the inputs guys, these are much appreciated.

@Mohib, just started learning cooking, so anything which can help me
prepare basic Indian vegetarian dishes accessibly would be of immense
help. Thought, connected appliances perhaps would be easier to
monitor, hence was looking for them. However, it seems, they are not
available here, so any device which can meet my above said purpose
would be fine.

@Pranav, thanks for the links, will check them out.

2021-11-14 Thread Payal Ki Jhankar
Hi Sachin
Often, we look for gadgets that we presume would be more helpful, but, end
up being disappointed. However, there are regular, been stream gadgets that
can be used just as easily, with a little bit of understanding and
orientation.
My name is Payal, and I run a podcast on YouTube called Rasoi Ke Rahasya-
https://www.youtube.com/c/RasoiKeRahasya

If you understand Hindi, and can follow this, I have put together very
detailed information about orientation to everything in the kitchen, and
also equipment that can be used by us excessively.
All one needs, is a little working around the gadgets, and you are good to
go. In case I can be of any more help, please don't hesitate to write back
to me.
Payal for a beginner.
