Subject: [AI] Attention: is there any blind person who has been provided job
via MGNREGA?
Dear Access Indians
As we all know, majority of Disabled people are still reside in the
countryside.
and educational and employment opportunities for them in those areas
are almost none.
But since 'MGNREGA', which is hailed world's largest act to provide
employment, and has potential to lift millions of lives out of poverty
to some extent, has been rolled out in 3 phases, and now is in
operation in the entire country.
My concern is what disabled people have gained out of MGNREGA
I am working on a project , 'what constitutes worker ' with special
focus on MGNREGA
And trying to do Economic Analysis of MGNREGA act.
And suddenly, my mind mulled how MGNRWEGA has been helping Disabled in
obtaining hundred days work and living life to some dignified level?
And what are primary hurdles disabled face in convincing Nrega
officials in availing work?
As most of the workers are engaged in construction sites,
Water-harvesting, and forest management activities, My concern is what
are the arenas where Disabled, particularly blind can contribute.
If anybody knows any worker, or has gone through any literature on
this subject, do enlighten me, please.
Thank yu
