However smart glasses made by SHG are also with Sammilitha foundation.

You ask good questions. 

The website indeed is sparse in information and so far, the company have done a 
stunningly poor job of communicating with its core customers.

 

The trouble with most e-commerce platforms is that they control the customer. 
You do not get direct access to the customer. When you list something on 
amazon, you as the seller do not know who the customer who bought your product 
is. Amazon have that information. Moreover, these platforms take a cut of your 
revenue. 

 

Most adaptive technology is not available on e-commerce platforms. Try buying a 
smart cane for instance. As far as I know, you still need to contact a 
specialist provider irrespective of where you are in the world.

 

There is no gainsaying the fact that the entire adaptive technology ecosystem 
is broken. 

 

The majority of entrepreneurs do not take any user feedback. However, you do 
have companies like Orbit Research who do come up with new solutions like their 
full-page graphics displays.

 

And on the matter of AI, if you have access to a device running IOS, try the 
new be my eyes beta  that incorporates chat gpt. This will not help you in 
walking around but for static image analysis, it is a powerful tool to have 
handy.

Hello Pranav sir,

Completely agree with you on scene recognition point, that's why I believe that 
more and more users should try it so that the device can be optimised to suit 
our needs and provide as much assistance  as possible even if not become a 
completely reliable solution.

I don't understand certain things about these companies and NGOs.

Why do they do not make proper websites listing complete details and 
information about their product.

What is this old-fashioned way of calling and seeking information.

Also, why can't these companies start making their products available on common 
E-commerce websites like Amazon.

If you look at other countries, it is so easy to buy most products, even for 
the VI.

I do not want to attack anyone or any company but its quite a broken system.

Let me make a point about scene recognition. These glasses like any other 
solutions on the market use models and ai. They do not know everything and 
cannot identify every obstacle that they may encounter. You can make larger 
models but then the processing speed slows down.

 

Let us not confuse availability with the presence of branches. I cannot comment 
on if there is someone in Pune who can demonstrate the glasses but I do not see 
any obstacles in the SHG team shipping them to you.

 

I cannot comment on the price. The last I heard, these were Rs. 3 but SHG

That's great to hear that you got a chance to see the demonstration.

Are you sure about all India availability, because no one seems to know where 
to reach out if you are in pune.

Bangalore and Hydrabad branches seem to be the most active.

I primarily want them for object recognition and scene description as moving a 
phone around is not possible and handy all the time.

I would want some in-house and in-campus moving around made easier and moving 
on road with a cane.

Also, do you know their cost.

Hello Pranav sir,
Completely agree with you on scene recognition point, that's why I believe
that more and more users should try it so that the device can be optimised
to suit our needs and provide as much assistance  as possible even if not
become a completely reliable solution.
I don't understand certain things about these companies and NGOs.
Why do they do not make proper websites listing complete details and
information about their product.
What is this old-fashioned way of calling and seeking information.
Also, why can't these companies start making their products available on
common E-commerce websites like Amazon.
If you look at other countries, it is so easy to buy most products, even
for the VI.
I do not want to attack anyone or any company but its quite a broken system.

However, in the interest of disabled persons I think it is essential to
share it.

I first saw the device in the exhibit area of PurpleFest. I saw
potential in it and offered to help in as a user.

I was in dialog with the main person behind it. I soon realized he was

plain, that if you are making it for the blind it better be with the
blind and not for the blind. I also made it clear I was disappointed

Much would depend on the speed of the camera and the software. In theory yes 
because there is a LIDAR in the glasses which does the distance estimation. 
However, this remains to be tested because if the feedback is too slow, then 
this use case will not be met.

Hello sir,
That's great to hear that you got a chance to see the demonstration.
Are you sure about all India availability, because no one seems to know
where to reach out if you are in pune.
Bangalore and Hydrabad branches seem to be the most active.
I primarily want them for object recognition and scene description as
moving a phone around is not possible and handy all the time.
I would want some in-house and in-campus moving around made easier and
moving on road with a cane.
Also, do you know their cost.

I agree about the poor demonstration skills of the staff. I tested the

1.  The reading, which was something that they showed me. 
2.  The object identification which is what I was looking for. I wanted it 
to tell me if there were staircases ahead of me which it did. The glasses also
