[AI] Eyeway News Alert

2013-08-20 Thread Eyeway Helpdesk
Hello Everyone,

Our communication team uploaded the following news articles to the Eyeway
website:

1. Indian blind football team set for international tournament

http://www.eyeway.org/?q=indian-blind-football-team-set-international-tourna
ment

Although blind football isn't very well known in India, a team are going to
the Thailand Open Football 5-A-Side Tournament 2013 in Bangkok - the first
time an Indian team will participate in an international football event.

2. Railways to provide Braille signage in coaches for visually impaired
passengers

http://www.eyeway.org/?q=railways-provide-braille-signage-coaches-visually-i
mpaired-passengers

As a part of its social commitment to make the Railways more friendly
towards specially abled passengers, Indian Railways has decided to provide
Braille stickers in coaches to facilitate visually impaired passengers.

(I know Avinash sent around the TOI article to colleagues. This story was
picked up by a wide number of media outlets. I have chosen this one because
the TOI one seemed to have opinion in it, and this one is purely factual).

3. In Jharkhand, kids' eyes bear brunt of poor diet
http://www.eyeway.org/?q=jharkhand-kids-eyes-bear-brunt-poor-diet

Work taking place in Jharkhand to combat preventable blindness in children,
which seems to be poverty related.

Enjoy!!
