Use the POWER() function. The following formula in excel returns 8000 - the cube of 20: =POWER(20, 3) Here 20 is the NUMBER or base and 3 is the POWER or index. A more simpler method of doing it is given below: =20 * 20 * 20 This method is simpler but not suitable when you need to perform calculations like 2 raised to 16 as you may end up making mistakes.
