Re: [AI] Issue with spell checker on Microsoft Word

2019-05-11 Thread Zujar Shabbir Kanchwala
As Mahesh mentioned, the keystrokes do work at times without ALT being
pressed. I have noticed that the keystrokes don't work for Grammar
errors unless the focus moves to one of the button controls in the
pane. Besides that, sometimes the error is not spoken automatically.

Note that I use 2 different software combinations and find the same behaviour:

Laptop1:
Windows 10 (version 1809 , build 17763.475)
Office 2019 (Subscription Version 16.0.11601.20136)
JAWS 2019 (March release)

Laptop 2:
Windows 10 (version 1703)
Office 2016 Subscription Version
JAWS 2018 (Nov 2018 release)

Though I often don't use Word, I just checked and verified that spell check
dialog works with out any accessibility with the latest version of Jaws
including the shortcuts.
I hold an individual subscription which is Microsoft Word Subscription Version
16.0.11328.20230 and verified that it is up to date.

Maybe that's the case. However, the keystrokes in question are those of Ms
Word and not JAWS. The keystrokes still work correctly in Ms Outlook while
composing an email in HTML format.

To my surprise, these days Microsoft is itself recommending on using NVDA

[AI] Issue with spell checker on Microsoft Word

2019-05-05 Thread Mahesh S. Panicker
Dear all,
I am facing an issue with Microsoft word, Office 365 2016. As Word got
updated, I can't access the old style spell checker. Instead, the
newly introduced editer comes up on pressing F7. It is hard to
navigate with Jaws or NVDA, and the shortcut keys don't work
consistently. Ander all these years of using the earlier system, I am
finding the new thing from Microsoft rather distasteful. Anyways I can
get back the old style spell checker that is accessible with screen
readers?
Thanks in advance,
