[AI] National Housing Bank issues a circular for extending all facilities including housing loans to physically challenged
Dear All, National Housing Bank (NHB) has on 3rd December 2015 issued a circular to all housing finance companies registered with it to provide all facilities including housing loan facilities to physically challenged persons without discrimination. While two days ago we were negotiating finer terms of a far more comprehensive draft of the circular covering various aspects for people with blindness (more details cannot be shared), but this two liner circular is also helpful at least as a policy measure on paper. Please also note that this circular covers only housing finance companies registered with NHB, a list of which is available on their website. I would like to extend my appreciation to National Association for the Blind, Delhi State Branch together with its CEO and Mr. Prashant Verma in particular for arranging a consultation at the last minute. Also my deep gratitude to Mr. Kalyanaraman (MD&CEO) of NHB who was very proactive on this matter. The circular is available here: http://www.nhb.org.in/Regulation/NHB%28ND%29-DRS-MiscCircularNo-16-2015-16.pdf Regards, -- Amar Jain.
