where do you want to check the word count? I believe you must be asking under microsoft word. open the document and pres alt+t followed by w. then press insert+b. if you are using the latest jaws pressing the insert+pagedown would read the status bar which contains all these things including the sections and pages. if you press insert + H or insert + W when Microsoft office is active then you will get the lit of sortcut keys.
