@#P L VERMA which laptop do you want drivers for? if you want laptop drivers for dell inspiron mini 3551 then its very easy just type download drivers for dell laptop on google and go to the first link in the results it will be something like support.dell.com just click on download drivers enter your service tag and you get the driver. for reading service tag take sighted help it should be on a sticker under the laptop or use a software called belarc adviser it will give your service tag. thats why i like dell they take really good care of accessible sights, drivers, and techsupport. i have never found dell sight to be inaccessible and if anytime they make changes to website and it is not accessible contacting webmas...@dell.com fixes it asap. also driver installation and upgradition is accessible. i have done bios updates on many dell laptop without sighted help also dell builds laptops in such a way that if you are a advanced hardware user you can upgrade ram and hard drive on your own just remove 2 screws on the under of the laptop and you find your hard drive, wifi adapter, wlan adapter, and ram. so i always go for dell even though its a bit expensive then other laptop and pcs and have installed dell pcs in my office also. haha! whats wrong with me! some1 asked for driver link and i wrote a full composition on dell laptops! any way take care all. this is some things that you can expect from dell On 4/29/16, P L VERMA wrote: > could you please provide a list of drivers for this particular laptop and > relevant links for downloading? > This will be of immense help. > > Thanks. > > - Original Message - > From: "Austin Pinto" > To: "AccessIndia: a list for discussing accessibility and issues concerning > the disabled." > Sent: Thursday, April 28, 2016 10:22 AM > Subject: Re: [AI] Requesting your suggestions to purchase a laptop > > >> regarding the 64bit vs 32 bit fight on 64bit you can run all softwares >> weather made for 32 bit or 64 bit. >> 32 bit is going slowly out of support >> the only part that u must take care is if there are some softwares >> made particularly for 32 or 64 bit you have to run the version of >> software according to the bit. >> e.g jaws 32 bit will not install on a 64 bit >> some 32 bit antiviruses will not install on 64bit also for drivers >> like chipset different drivers are available for 64 bit. >> regarding the question by Bhavya for a new laptop the laptop that i >> use and suggested doesnt have a dvd drive. >> this has 2 or 3 benifits. >> 1. the laptop is thin and lite wait >> 2. 1 more less part that can fail. >> 3. you get some extra battery life as the part is not powered on at all. >> yes dvd drives without disk go to standby but still some power is >> taken by the opening arm the light and lence. >> regarding no tension of slipping my suggested laptop has mat finished >> just like moto g2 but its more rougher than that >> on the cover and on the inside. >> it also has a spill resistent keyboard and trackpad. >> and speakers are just explosive loud. >> when i went for the laptop i was scared as its for 19000 almost and in >> so less what i will get but when i got the laptop i was shocked on >> speed and features >> but you will have to install windows on your own and also you have to >> use wifi or usb 3g or lte dongle as there is no rj45 ithernet port or >> you can get an external ithernet adaptor for about 200 on flipkart or >> 120 to 150 on shops in lamington road. >> with the screen off i mean projected to a non existent second screen a >> 9hr battery backup is what you get. >> however if you can tweek advance settings in windows u can extend to >> 10.3hrs to 11hrs and i have done that. >> >> On 4/27/16, Arjun Malhotra wrote: >>> I seond Mohib sir nothing beats a thinkpad! >>> >>> On 4/27/16, Mohib Anwar Rafay wrote: >>>> In terms of robustness and portability, nothing can beat ThinkPad. >>>> Just see Lenovo ThinkPad X250. regarding the 64bit vs 32 bit fight on 64bit you can run all softwares weather made for 32 bit or 64 bit. 32 bit is going slowly out of support the only part that u must take care is if there are some softwares made particularly for 32 or 64 bit you have to run the version of software according to the bit. e.g jaws 32 bit will not install on a 64 bit some 32 bit antiviruses will not install on 64bit also for drivers like chipset different drivers are available for 64 bit. regarding the question by Bhavya for a new laptop the laptop that i use and suggested doesnt have a dvd drive. this has 2 or 3 benifits. 1. the laptop is thin and lite wait 2. 1 more less part that can fail. 3. you get some extra battery life as the part is not powered on at all. yes dvd drives without disk go to standby but still some power is taken by the opening arm the light and lence. regarding no tension of slipping my suggested laptop has mat finished just like moto g2 but its more rougher than that on the cover and on the inside. it also has a spill resistent keyboard and trackpad. and speakers are just explosive loud. when i went for the laptop i was scared as its for 19000 almost and in so less what i will get but when i got the laptop i was shocked on speed and features but you will have to install windows on your own and also you have to use wifi or usb 3g or lte dongle as there is no rj45 ithernet port or you can get an external ithernet adaptor for about 200 on flipkart or 120 to 150 on shops in lamington road. with the screen off i mean projected to a non existent second screen a 9hr battery backup is what you get. however if you can tweek advance settings in windows u can extend to 10.3hrs to 11hrs and i have done that. In terms of robustness and portability, nothing can beat ThinkPad. Just see Lenovo ThinkPad X250. Or wait for HP Inspector. Though these models will be little bit expensive. Hi, Excellent thread, and some great suggestions. if on any laptop that you purchase has 4gb or more ram you must go for 64 bit. 32 bit also will work but you wont get the performence that you will get with a 64bit windows as a 32 bit will not be able to recognise and use all of the ram On 4/25/16, Mujeeb Rahman wrote: > Could you please enlighten me why 64 bit? Re: [AI] Requesting your suggestions to purchase a laptop
hi Mujeeb. i just purchased a new laptop. dell inspiron 3551 with pentium quord core there is another type with seleron dual core dont go for that. the laptop has 4gb ram u can upgrade up to 8gb a 500gb hard drive. but the laptop doesnt have a dvd drive and a ithernet port so if you require dvd u can purchase a external dvd drive and if you use internet using a cable u must purchase a external ithernet card. now regarding battery backup this laptop is just fantastic it gives about 7hrs backup (i have thurrerly tested this and this is not according to what dell says) but if you put of your screen by pressing windows and p and then selecting second display and then pressing keep changes then you will get about 10 to 11hrs battery backup. now the only problem is this laptop doesnt come with windows installed it comes with ubuntu 16 you can use that or as i have done purchase windows 10. online on flipkart you get this laptop for 18900 but from shops its expensive. it has a 15.6 inch screen and a full desktop stile keyboard with numpad it has 1 usb 3.0 port 1 headphone port 2 usb 2.1 ports and a hdmi 1.4 port. if you want i can give you a link to the laptop. you wont be sorry for purchasing this. things i do is watch youtube videos, emails browsing, word excel and ppt and access with android and windows app development for my office. my brother also plays high end games like call of deuty 3 on it On 4/22/16, Mujeeb Rahman wrote: > Dear All, > > Greetings for the day! > > Well, after a gap of almost more than a year, I’m back here again for > your kind advice. > > As the subject itself says, it is for purchasing a new laptop for my > official and personal needs. [AI] Requesting your suggestions to purchase a laptop
Dear All, Greetings for the day! Well, after a gap of almost more than a year, I’m back here again for your kind advice. As the subject itself says, it is for purchasing a new laptop for my official and personal needs. It would be of great help, if either of the experts of this list could help me on the same. As far as my preference is concerned, it should have good battery back up as well as good spec. Rather than listing the specification, request you to point out to a particular model as I’ve to finalize it today itself. I thank you in advance.. -- Best, MRS "It's better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not". - Unknown -- Best, MRS "It's better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not". - Unknown Sent from my iPad Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe.
