Hi Arijeet,

MacBook is a very good device. Though I haven't used MAC OS at all but
would urge you to check VoiceOver's capability to deal with Math
content. From what I have heard, VoiceOver on MacBook has very tedious
key strokes and it doesn't work that well with Math content. I am not
aware if situation has changed in recent past though.

I strongly recommend buying a dell. I have used two off and on since the last 4
years. I cannot say anything about other brands as the ones I used before the
afore-mentioned one are all older or expired models now like Compack and HP,
but this is certain, if you by a dell, you will never regret it!
I am planning to purchase a Macbook myself, so I could give you my inputs once
I get it. Till then, what are your suggestions about it?

The thing is dont worry much about brand. The most imp factor is which brand
has better service and centers in your area town or city whatever.
After that make a choice for the laptop which offers you the max specs in that
budget.
Bcoz most of the parts in this laptops are from the same manufacturer it is
just which ever company buys it puts up their brand name.
Dell has bad reviews maybe bcoz it has very limited service centers and also
most of its parts are imported Which makes its service expensive.
Otherwise I have got good reviews about Dells performance.
I personally use hp but I am thinking to go for some other company like asus
dell etc.
Best Regards-
Abhisar

Hi,
I would also recommend asus, but I would suggest which ever laptop you
choose, please just google for reviews for that particular moddle.
I have never used an hp before,so couldnt say,but lenovos used to be
pretty decent,not so much now,though.
Proper research about the moddle on review websites should probably help
you much more than the company, as in this range they all are likely to be
the same.
The windows edition doesn't matter a bit,and with almost all laptops you
are likely to get home anyway. unless you are willing to spend about 10k on
a windowspro licence, I'd suggest you stay away,or pirate a copy,which ever
you are comfortable with.
and yes,jaws 18 works well with upto windows10 1803

[AI] Some queeries regarding purchase of a new laptop

2018-07-20 Thread Avichal Bhatnagar
Dear list members,
I am planning to buy a new laptop for myself, in the price range of
35-45 thousand.
I request your valuable suggestions on two issues:
1. Between Lenovo and HP, which brand would be better?
I am unwilling to go for Dell as there are a lot of negative reviews
about its laptops.
Personally, I am more fascinated with Lenovo as its offering more
features and better configuration in this price range but would like
to have suggestions before I make the final move.
2. Which edition of windows 10 is most compatible with JAWS 18?
Do all editions of windows 10 work equally well with it, or is there a
particular one like home or professional.
Please provide your important inputs.
Thanking you
