What is WebTrends?
WebTrends is a Web analytics tool which collects and
presents information about user behavior on a web
site. It collects data from Web server log files
augmented with information from client-side scripts.
It presents its results through a graphic user
interface.

WebTrends can present a large variety of analyses on
many different kinds of web sites. It has a large
number of configuration parameters, and requires the
administrator to understand HTTP and other Web
technologies in detail. WebTrends can require
considerable resources for web sites with high
traffic. Its report presentation interface is very
configurable, allowing the administrator to select
exactly the information to present.
Web analytics reports are useful to analyze and
understand :
User behavior on each particular page of the site.
User navigational behavior between pages on the
site.
Task execution by users.
Referrals from search engines.
User behavioral and demographic data.
Advertising results.
WebTrends is often used to improve web site design,
for example :
Improving conversion of visitors to sales,
subscriptions, and the like.
Streamlining navigation.
WebTrends collect data by implementing a small piece
of code in the source code of the webpage or from the
webserver logs. The current version of WebTrends is
